These are words I have heard in many forms. In movies, on TV shows, from people I know. These words say volumes about the life of the person saying it. About the people that wrote the scripts that form the movies and shows. What is worse in those I personally know, especially from those that profess to being a follower of Jesus Christ.
The moment I hear these words, even when they are not the exact words, especially from someone that professes to being a child of God through Jesus Christ I want to weep.
Why weep? Those reading this just ask, because the moment these words leave their lips we see where their hearts truly are. That their hearts are here not with God. If they were with God then they would show it as the Bible makes very clear.
2 Corinthians 5:1-8 NKJV – For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
“We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”
Any who are truly one with God welcome death. Not to the point of seeking to commit suicide. For we know we all have been given duties we must fulfill if we are to stand proudly in His presence. If we are still here within this temporal plain of existence, we know we are in two forms. We either haven’t fulfilled our duties given to us by God through Jesus Christ or we aren’t listening to Him through the Holy Spirit and are living in sin and must repent.
It is the latter that end up saying the words: “I don’t want to die.”
The moment I hear these words I weep. For I know that those that say them. They are not welcome in heaven. The only reason they don’t want to die is because they too know this truth within themselves but have refused to accept this Truth on a conscious level. That is until it is too late which is why they end up saying in some form “I don’t want to die.”
I relish the coming of the Lord. I so yearn to be in the presence of God, yet I hold out and wait. Impatiently waiting but waiting all the same for God has not yet told His Son to begin the tribulation. Even though we are seeing the signs that He is soon to come, for the midnight cry has been heard, which was the martyrdom of Charlie Kirk.
Do you seek to be with God or are you saying to yourself “I don’t want to die?”
