Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Why word this verse in such a way?

Because what is of the most importance is said last not first. Because these letters were read aloud to those gathered to hear them. Most forget what is said first, but if it is last it sticks with you and remains upon your mind.

When we live by and with the Holy Spirit, for we become a temple for the Holy Ghost. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) When we follow all that is shown to be the fruits we work within the perimeters of the laws of Moses.

At this point there are those that are protesting what has just been said. Proclaiming that the laws are of the “old covenant.”

Matthew 5:17-20 NKJV – “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

But how can our righteousness exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees?

By having self-control, which requires us to behave in the manner described in Galatians five. We can also in this chapter see how we are not to behave and in so doing apply self-control.

Galatians 5:19-21 NKJV – Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

I have witnessed and even experienced some of the works of the flesh that many don’t realize they are doing when they accept Christ as their Savior. They aren’t the outright sins like adultery and fornication. They are contention, outburst of wrath and dissension. This is exemplified by those that just a few moments ago were protesting what I had just stated from the Word of God. That was a lack of self-control and shows that those that did act in this fashion were not working from the Spirit but from the flesh.

So, two questions need to be asked. The first why is “self-control” on the list of behavior that shows spiritual fruit. The second. Why is it listed last?

Once again, when something is of great import when it comes to the letters that form what has become the New Testament it is written last. Why? Because these letters were read aloud to many at once. For the book that is now the Bible did not exist for hundreds of years. Therefore, the last thing spoken is usually the thing most remembered.

Now that we have addressed the last question. Let’s address the first.

How is self-control defined? It is the ability to control your emotions and actions.

Why do we need to control our emotions and actions? Why? We’re saved. We’re children of God.

Because on God’s side of the relationship we are loved and welcomed. It is our side of the relationship that is the issue.

I challenge all listening to read the book of Hosea. Look at it as if they are the wife of Hosea. Then you will understand.

I once had someone say to me. “Why would God remove His grace from us once it is given?”

The answer is simple. God doesn’t. We do.

Because most do not practice self-control. They live in this fantasy that they can never loss their salvation. While all the time they slide further and further away from God. Bearing no true fruit for God. Because they do not control their emotions and their action.

They don’t read the Bible and learn what is required on their part of the relationship. They just assume that they can continue to live their lives as they have already, just a bit cleaner. They don’t understand the true definition of the word “repent.”

In the King James, which is the closest English version available to the original Hebrew and Greek, the word appears a total of 43 times, most of which are in the New Testament. Within that part of the Bible, it is the same word except for three times. Twice in 2 Colossians and once in Hebrews.

Twenty times in the New Testament the word used for “repent” is:

Metanoeo – to think differently or afterwards, i.e. reconsider from Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance; I repent, change my mind, change the inner man (particularly with reference to acceptance of the will of God) [expanded definition].

In the Theological Dictionary of the New Testament thirty-eight pages is devoted to this word, I will not spend that much time upon it. In the primary definition of the word metanoeo, which is a compound word from “meta” and “noieo,” in the TDNT two main definition are given. In the first these phrases stick out “to change one’s mind,” “to adopt another view,” “to change one’s feelings” and “to change one’s resolve or purpose.”

Now just ponder those phrases.

Your mind is changed from what it once was, causing you to adopt another view of life, which causes your feelings to change, giving you a new resolve and purpose in life. This implicates that you thought wrongly, your view of your life was incorrect. You had feelings that you no longer wish to pursue and so with a new resolve and purpose you seek to change and no longer live your life in such a manner.

Here are the key phrases from the second definition of the word “repent” “if the change of mind derives from recognition that the earlier view was foolish, improper, or evil, there arises the sense ‘to regret,’ ‘to feel remorse,’ ‘to rue.’” “If I had known better I would have acted otherwise.”

Later into the thirty-eight pages it specifically addresses Jesus’ view and meaning of the word repent. It spends nearly three pages discussing this viewpoint and boils down to this:
He took John the Baptist’s meaning of the word and expanded upon it. To quote: “But Jesus does not merely repeat the call of the Baptist. He modifies and transcends it by making conversion a fundamental requirement… To call to conversion is the purpose of His sending.”

Therefore, repentance is the true sign that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, and when you feel true repentance you feel regret, remorse and you feel bitter sorrow over the sins you have committed. This allows you to stop living in these sins.

If you do not feel regret, if you do not feel remorse, if you do not feel sorrow, then you are not repentant. You have not experienced the word “repent.”

Now for the other word as was mentioned in Colossians and Hebrews:
Metamelomai – I change my mind (generally for the better), repent, regret in Strong’s. In the TDNT the word means “to experience remorse.”

Remorse – in the Merriam-Webster definition of this word is “a gnawing distress arising from a sense of guilt for past wrongs”

Consequently, this once again points to a past way of living. A past way of thinking. So again, I say if you live within a sin and feel no need to end this sin then it is your master. It is your king. It is the sin that is in control of your life. You may say the words “but I am a Christian,” but if you have not been truly born again (John 3:3), you will never feel true repentance and so are not one with God. You are living within a lukewarm life of more saying you are “Christian” but living of and within the world, within the sin and so per Revelation 3:15-16 you shall be spit out of the Body, by Christ Himself.

This is where the need for self-control comes from. This is why self-control is so vital. Without self-control we are as fickle as the wife of Hosea. For that is how all of humanity is. Saved or unsaved. For their focus is not upon that which pleases God but on that which gives them the greatest joy at that very moment. Without self-control we fall prey to that which our flesh desires more than what God desires.

Most that profess to being “Christian” live their lives not reflecting God, nor His Son Jesus Christ. They manifest that which is greatest in their lives.

Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV – “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

1 John 2:15-16 NLT – Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.

It is through practicing self-control that we don’t store our earthly wealth here in this temporal realm, but we give it away freely. We don’t seek after that which is of the world or is pleasing to the world.

Yet how many that call themselves “Christian” live in fancy homes and have thousands if not millions in their bank accounts. All stored there for their own wants and desires. Which shows a total lack of self-control. For if they had control over their lust for money they wouldn’t have sought after the large house and lavish lifestyle they live within. Going about parading their wealth for all to see with their noses up in the air thinking they are superior to others.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 NKJV – Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

They are so focused due to true lack of self-control upon the here and now. Totally ignoring where they wish to reside in their eternal life that is yet to come. They have been told that they can have their wealth and their eternal life, which is a lie. For it is made clear that they must choose through self-control where they wish to spend eternity. For all the world sees what they have chosen and in so doing so bring a lie to not only who they are but to Jesus Christ. This is why, due to lack of self-control that millions will not stand before the Throne in robes of white, but as a defendant in the Great White Throne Judgement. Most will be shocked to find that Christ Himself removed their names from the Book of Life.

Discussion

The Holy Spirit had impressed upon me to address this podcast to those that will find themselves still here in this temporal plain of existence after the soon to occur rapture and now profess to being called “Christian” as this time.

Jonah 1:1-3 NKJV – Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.

This is what those that now profess to being a disciple of Jesus Christ do. Thus, they like Jonah have turned their backs upon Christ’s directive given to all that profess to being a child of God.

Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV – And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in my name, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Note: For those reading and not listening. Verse 19 actually ends with “in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit.” See Philippians 1:19; Acts 2:38; 16:7 as to why I changed it the way I did.

They have turned their backs and run away from God. Trying their best not to do as God has instructed them.

Jonah 1:4-6 NKJV – But the LORD sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken up. Then the mariners were afraid; and every man cried out to his god, and threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea, to lighten the load. But Jonah had gone down into the lowest parts of the ship, had lain down, and was fast asleep. So the captain came to him, and said to him, “What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God; perhaps your God will consider us, so that we may not perish.”

God is going to send a storm unto those that have fled from the Lord yet professed to being one with Him. It is called the Tribulation. When the storm occurs most that believe they are right with God, yet in reality they aren’t, will be asleep.

It will be someone that is starting to fear the events about them that will cause those that are asleep to awaken. They will insist that those left here and profess to being “Christian” to pray and fix what is wrong. Why? Because they are starting to realize that they could be wrong. That God could be real and they are looking to those that professed to being His followers will in some way fix the issue.

Jonah 1:7-10 NKJV – And they said to one another, “Come, let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this trouble has come upon us. “So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah. Then they said to him, “Please tell us! For whose cause is this trouble upon us? What is your occupation? And where do you come from? What is your country? And of what people are you? “So he said to them, “I am a Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.” Then the men were exceedingly afraid, and said to him, “Why have you done this?” For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them.

There are those that deny God at this time. However, in the midst of the storm to be called the tribulation. They will come to those that had been asleep and found themselves left here. They will ask those that were left behind a piecing question.

“Why have you done this?”

But what do they mean by this question?

In the case of those that will find themselves still here. Unlike those the rapture takes. Like those that are dead but had truly lived a Christian life. As well as those that were prepared and living a Christian life at this time. They will be asking them why they didn’t follow the teachings within the Bible.

Those asking the questions will ask them. Why didn’t they downsize? Why didn’t they give most of their wealth to those in need and live off the least required to make it in this world? Why didn’t they preach the Word of God and spread the teachings of whom they professed to follow? Why didn’t they separate themselves from the world as we are commanded to do?

Then they may even ask the greatest question of all. How could you have abandoned He who created everything?

Jonah 1:11-13 NKJV – Then they said to him, “What shall we do to you that the sea may be calm for us?”—for the sea was growing more tempestuous. And he said to them, “Pick me up and throw me into the sea; then the sea will become calm for you. For I know that this great tempest is because of me.” Nevertheless the men rowed hard to return to land, but they could not, for the sea continued to grow more tempestuous against them.

What I am about to say will not fall into place with what transpires here in these verses of Jonah. But it will address the mentality of those in the first three and a half years of the tribulation. Many will still be going through confusion. Especially those that find themselves left behind. Some will ask humans how they should act or respond. However, that is not who they should be asking for help.

The more they themselves strive to accomplish any success in their withdrawal from the storm. They will find that they are fighting a losing battle. For the storm of the tribulation will grow ever deeper and stronger.

Jonah 1:14-16 NKJV – Therefore they cried out to the LORD and said, “We pray, O LORD, please do not let us perish for this man’s life, and do not charge us with innocent blood; for You, O LORD, have done as it pleased You.” So they picked up Jonah and threw him into the sea, and the sea ceased from its raging. Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice to the LORD and took vows.

This is what is required for all those that awaken to the Truth. They are to turn to the Lord and first acknowledge that His is real and the Creator of all. Then they are to accept Him thought His Son Jesus Christ. Then do what is required.

Jonah 1:17 NKJV – Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

When this verse is taken in context with Daniel 9:27:

Daniel 9:27 NKJV – Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”

We can see that those that embrace the ways of the Lord must allow themselves to be swallowed by the fish. To suffer without protest what is to be endured for those three years. They must enter into the prayer that Jonah entered into.

Jonah 2:1-10 NKJV – Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the fish’s belly. And he said: “I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction, And He answered me. “Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice. For You cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the floods surrounded me; All Your billows and Your waves passed over me. Then I said, ‘I have been cast out of Your sight; Yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.’ The waters surrounded me, even to my soul; The deep closed around me; Weeds were wrapped around my head. I went down to the moorings of the mountains; The earth with its bars closed behind me forever; Yet You have brought up my life from the pit, O LORD, my God. “When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD; And my prayer went up to You, Into Your holy temple. “Those who regard worthless idols Forsake their own Mercy. But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.” So the LORD spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

“I will pay what I have vowed.”

What is vowed is that they accept what will be the depths of their despair. They will not act in violence but in love. Receiving the pain and suffering that they had brought upon themselves just like Jonah had done. For they had run from His love for their own wants and desires over what is required to be a disciple of Christ.

Luke 14:25-33 NKJV – Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it— lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.

In chapter 3 of the book of Jonah he goes to the city of Nineveh and finally does as he is instructed. Then the city repents even down to the animals per the Scriptures. Chapter 4 shows Jonah’s reaction.

Jonah 4:1-3 NKJV – But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he became angry. So he prayed to the LORD, and said, “Ah, LORD, was not this what I said when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled previously to Tarshish; for I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm. Therefore now, O LORD, please take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live!”

So, Jonah’s excuse for running from his called tasked was because he knew that God would win. As the chapter continues God gives Jonah an object lesson and that is where it ends.

Therefore, Jonah decided for himself to override the rule of God. He sought after his own personal desires and wants over the will of God.

This is the mentality that is full within those that will find themselves still here after the first and smallest of the raptures occurs. They will be angry. Not out of rage, but out of fear. For at that moment they will realize that God will win. They will realize that why they turned their backs upon the Creator of the Universe. Why they are angry. Is because they chose to run from God.

Their anger will not be at God, but at themselves. Now they must embrace the prayer of Jonah to God.

“I cry out to the LORD in my great trouble, and he answered me. I call to you from the depths of Hades, and LORD, you heard me! You threw me into the depths, and I sank down to the heart of darkness. The mighty darkness engulfed me; I was buried beneath your wild and stormy waves of the masses. Then I said, ‘O LORD, you have driven me from your presence. Yet I will look once more toward your holy Temple.’ “I sank beneath the waves of despair, and the waters closed over me. Seaweed wrapped itself around my head. I sank down to the very roots of the mountains. I was imprisoned in the earth, whose gates lock shut forever. But you, O LORD my God, snatched me from the jaws of death! As my eternal life was slipping away, I remembered the LORD. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple. Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God’s mercies. But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the LORD alone.”

Amen

Discussion

I have noted a trend that is becoming disturbing. However, I understand why it is occurring. I have noted an increase in people who profess to being servants of Jesus Christ yet deny His very Words that He Himself spoke. What is worse is that it has to do with His soon return.

Too many are confusing the rapture with the return of Christ. To the point that they are denying the existence of the rapture itself. Nevertheless, these are the Words of Christ:

Luke 21:34-36 NKJV – “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Matthew 24:36-42 NKJV – “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.

These are the words of Jesus Christ telling all of a rapture. He also gave a clue as what to look for.  The behavior of those in the time of Noah, and what describes the behavior of those in the end-times that will be like those in the time of Noah?

2 Timothy 3:1-5 NKJV – But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Now Satan is quite aware that the rapture is near. Remember He was once an angel. A servant of God. Therefore, part of the great deception is to confound and confuse those that are weak in their knowledge of the Scriptures. Those that still partake of milk instead of solid food. These people listen to those that profess to being in contact with God. Not realizing they are listening to wolves in sheep’s clothing.

People have to understand that if they accept Christ as their Savior, they themselves become a disciple to Him. So, it is their responsibility to learn fully the Bible for themselves. That way they can discern for themselves who is speaking the Truth. I challenge all to fully read the Scriptures and see which is correct. The people they listen to or the Bible.

But to get back on track.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 NKJV – But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Now what is important is Christ’s full return will be when He steps foot upon this planet once again. Nothing precludes Him from being in the atmosphere of this planet. Also, there is a need for some event to signal the beginning of the seven years of the tribulation. That is the Rapture.

Christ Himself described turmoil and calamity which are found during the tribulation. Yet as was witnessed in the verses from Luke chapter twenty-one all can avoid this if they follow the teachings found in the Bible. However, we already know that most will reject this Truth. This is seen in two places.

Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV – “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Revelation 7:9-14 NKJV – After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen.” Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?” And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The entire seven years is the Great Tribulation. However, we are told this in 2 Thessalonians:

2 Thessalonians 2:3-8 NKJV – Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.

He who restrains the antichrist is the Holy Spirit. However, where does the Holy Spirit reside?

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NKJV – Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

If the Holy Ghost resides in us. Those that are filled with the Holy Spirit must be removed from the face of the earth to allow the antichrist to be fully revealed.

This is a description of the events about the third temple. At the middle of this period called the tribulation the temple is defiled. This is when the antichrist is fully revealed for all to see. This cannot be accomplished unless the Holy Spirit is removed from the face of the earth which corresponds with Revelation chapter seven. Meaning that in the first three and a half years those that were not prepared and watchful will fix their relationship with God thus being counted in the billions or as the text states “uncountable.”

This is the Truth of the Word of God.

However, many deny this Truth. They say there will be no rapture. When Christ Himself said there would be.

1 Timothy 6:3-5 NKJV – If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.

The Bible itself identifies those that don’t acknowledge the word spoken by Jesus Christ Himself. Since Christ said there is to be a rapture then there is to be one and it is before the tribulation and at the midpoint as well. Two different events of two different sizes. Both required to allow the antichrist to be revealed. For both remove those that have been graced with the Holy Spirit, thus making way for evil to be able to run rampant as is witnessed by the desecration of the third and last temple.

But what of the rapture shown in the book of Daniel?

To answer that we must understand how Daniel actually wrote what would become his book in the first place. From verses 2:4-7:28 are written in Aramaic. Meaning the beginning and the ending were written in Hebrew. Scholars agree that this is a type of aiming for those who are to read this book. These separated areas of Daniel to their respective readers of  that language. The Aramaic parts aimed at all of humanity while the Hebrew parts were meant only for the Jewish people and then in time those who would become Christian.

This being said. When approached with understanding that the aimed audience is those that form the nation of Israel in the first part and last part of the book of Daniel. Therefore, the prophesied rapture shown in chapter 12 is exclusively given to those that form the tribes of Israel and no others. So, let us look at these verses

Daniel 12:1-3 NKJV – “At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.

These verses describe the tribulation and is directed to those events that occur after the antichrist is revealed. It even implies the 144,000 of chapter seven of the book of Revelation verses one through eight. Their sealing which occurs just before the midpoint of the tribulation, which will protect them from attack by the antichrist and those who follow this person. It also shows the rapture of the Jewish people, which takes place just before Jesus Christ’s return, otherwise known as the pre-wrath rapture.

What many do not realize is how the great deception is to work. Many think and believe that it will be out right denial and rejection of God. They would be right. However, they would also be wrong.

The best definition of the word “deception” is: dishonest or illegal methods that are used to get something, or to make people believe that something is true when it is not.

But note it is called the “great deception.” Many that fall for it believe whole-heartedly that they are following the Truth. Nevertheless, most go against who is the Truth, Jesus Christ our Savior and yet they profess in all honesty that they are “Christian.” They have already accepted the lie over the Truth. Thus, they have already accepted the great deception. Most chase after what they call what is right and say they must and will do what is right. Yet their “right” does not follow the teachings of Christ Jesus.

We are in the great deception, the great falling away. One of the visible signs is the increase in tattoos by those that profess to being followers of Jesus are just one example. Just as there are those that deny the rapture, those that believe wholeheartedly that they follow Christ, yet live their lives in and of the world are a part of the great falling away.

Jesus Christ is soon to return. It is soon to happen however you may wish to believe it will occur. What is important is that you fix your relationship with God through Jesus Christ and live as He told us to live our lives. the more you deny the Truth the more you will have to suffer. be it in the tribulation or in the pit of fire. it is your choice where you wish to face eternity.

Discussion

God impressed upon me through the Holy Spirit to write this podcast. For I am through debating people about the Word of God, the Bible.

Case-in-point:

On Facebook a woman placed her opinion that there would be no pre-tribulation rapture.

Now I must add that I understand where she is coming from. This is aimed at the multitude out there that call themselves “Christian” and are expecting to be taken away before the tribulation occurs. However, they live in and of the world. But I will address this later, so I can get back on track.

Within the thread that followed her post there were those that insisted upon all of Christendom being removed before the Tribulation. There were also those that denied any raptures at all. These two extremes are both incorrect.

I provided what I have learned from studying the Bible. Which is that there will be multiple raptures and I provided some Bible verses to back it up. This is getting to the core of why I am done debating people. For the lady that made the post challenged the verse I used as a witness for a pre-tribulation rapture stating that was solely for those that were already dead being risen. Here is that verse:

She reprinted these verses insisting this had only to do with those that had already died, but cap-locking the key statements about the dead. Which I agree most of it does. However, what does the seventeenth verse say?

1 Thessalonians 4:17 NLT – Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.

I gave all the verses because too many take things out of context, which has led many astray. As you can see even when that is done people will see only that which they wish to see. Which is saddening.

It is examples like this which is why I will no longer enter into debates. Why?

1 Timothy 6:3-5 NKJV – If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.

“Even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

For the example I started with today. What has Jesus Christ said?

Consequently, Jesus Christ foretold of a rapture. Any who say there will be no rapture just called Christ a liar and in so doing denied the Son of God and have sealed their fate for themselves.

Matthew 10:33 NKJV – But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

What else did Jesus say?

Luke 21:34-36 NKJV – “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

“Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass.”

This clearly foretells of a pre-tribulation rapture. It also lays out the condition required to be counted worthy. Christ also tells us who will be worthy.

Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV – “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

What this means is that the pre-tribulation rapture will be small. No more the a few million people out of the billions which now profess to being called “Christian.”

This is the Truth within the Bible. It is the Word of God and not up for debate or speculation. Nor arguments which goes against the words spoken by Christ Himself.

This is why it is a waste of time to debate. All we need do is give the Truth through the Word of God itself. Why?

2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV – All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

When people chose to debate the Bible, they debate the Word of God and who is the Word of God?

John 1:1-5 NKJV – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

“In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

This sentence speaks volumes, when it comes to those that chose to debate and argue against the Bible. We see that their priorities are not on that which they believe, but where their hearts are focused upon.

Matthew 6:19-24 NLT – “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is! “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.

“Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!

Many believe they are right with the Lord God through Jesus Christ. Yet they live in darkness because their heart is not focused upon what will give glory to God, but upon what will look nice in their dinning room, or that new bedspread in the guest bedroom that by chance may be used once a decade. Or who are the opening players in some sporting event in the coming week.

Therefore, they are confounded when it comes to understanding the Bible. For they are not listening to the Holy Ghost, but to the world about them. For their hearts are focused here in this temporal realm when it should be focused upon the holy realm they desire to enter into.

They live in darkness and so are perplexed by what is written within the Bible because they do not study it for themselves, but take the word of others whom they believe is better and closer to God than they are. They delegate their responsibility to God to these other imperfect humans in place of He who died upon the cross for them.

This is why I will no longer debate with other. For they have surrendered their salvation for their own wants and desires of this temporal existence. But what is worse many don’t even realize that they have.

This is one reason I hear so many now denying that which Christ Himself described and foretold. Or say it must be this certain way and no other way can be right.

Now I know I am in no way perfect. However, when I read the Bible I do not see one rapture but many. The one promised to those that are faithful and true, the pre-tribulation rapture. The one that occurs when the Holy Spirit is remove from the face of the earth, the mid-tribulation rapture. Then once they are gone the antichrist will be fully revealed. Why? Because it is made clear that it is the Holy Ghost’s presence that is holding back the revealing of the antichrist. So, any who serve as a Temple of the Holy Spirit must be removed as well. Then there is the description of a rapture in the book of Daniel, but it takes place just before Jesus Christ returns, the pre-wrath rapture. this is in the twelve chapter of this book which was written in Hebrew. a clear sign that it was meant for the Jewish people to learn and listen too. These are three different discrptions. How can they be speaking of the same event?  Simply they can’t.

Since all scripture is inspired by God as was mentioned earlier why do so many argue and debate this? Because they are living in darkness and so are confounded to what is the Truth. That is an issue that they themselves must address with God for their own sakes. My job is to teach and evangelize. It is their job to verify what has been taught by turning to the Scriptures. Then if it stands in agreement with the Word then they are to seek to correct what is wrong in their lives as I seek to correct what is wrong in mine.

I will not debate for one other reason, and that reason is the most concerning. For time is running out and Jesus will come at any moment as a thief in the night. It could be right now, tomorrow, next week or even next year. It may even be a few years from now. For none will know the time of His return so we must be ready. How can we be ready if we debate and argue over words within the Bible. All that shows is that those that do this live in sin and in many ways do not truly seek the eternal life to come but the momentary rewards that are found in this fleeting reality that will not be remembered ever again.

Discussion

Now why is the first thing the Glorified Jesus Christ did when He had John write what would become the book of Revelation was to write to seven churches in what is now Turkey?

For the simple fact that those that profess to being “Christian” at this time comprise every aspect of those that were apart of these communities in the 90s A.D. Right this very moment people behave in the same manner as those people did that comprised these seven groups.

As has been established in past podcasts those that have studies the Scriptures also have concluded that these seven letters are chronological (Podcast #6 The Chronological Order of the letters to the Seven Churches in Revelation). Meaning the last letter, which is the letter to Laodicea, which tells us of the lukewarm Christian, is the time we now live within.

That being said. Reading these letters and having a heartfelt look into our own lives and lifestyles and seeing if we fall into any behaviors within these letters. In Podcast #102 I go through a teaching that I was directed by the Holy Spirit to pursue. That teaching still applies. However, that does not change that you can get more from these letters. Why?

John 14:26 NKJV – But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV – All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The Holy Spirit teaches us and expands our horizons. I believe the closer we get to being a reflection of Jesus Christ the more insight into the real Truth God Himself grants us.

Now why have I gone to such trouble to get to this point. Because I have been led to discuss a different angle to the fifth letter. The letter to Sardis.

Revelation 3:1-6 NKJV – “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ‘

This one letter actually crosses the lines of many denominations and beliefs within Christendom. In another podcast I singled out one at that time. However, this time I was led to say this covers all that choose to call Jesus Christ their Savior.

Within every single building that calls itself a “church.” Within every community that profess to follow Jesus. Within in every group that studies the Bible at work, in school or in a park. What is said within this letter is something to understand for all that are listening or reading this.

“”I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.”

Many have said they are alive in Christ. Yet they do not follow the Spirit. In Galatians we are taught what are the fruit of the Spirit:

Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Living this way is not easy. For there are many trials given unto us that causes us to break from attaining living this way. Many however do not even get to that level. I have encountered many professing to be a child of God through Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, the fruit they bear is visible for all to see. For what is seen is the ways of the flesh as is described earlier in Galatians:

Galatians 5:19-21 NKJV – Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

What amazes me the most is when I encounter the majority that display the flesh and not the Spirit yet insist, they are one with Jesus Christ. To the point of calling me a hypocrite.

Now why point out these verses from Galatians?

Key elements that rear their heads when I encounter those that live in the flesh, yet insist they are dedicated followers of Jesus Christ. they show hatred, contention, and outburst of wrath.

We can also turn to these verses:

1 Timothy 6:3-5 NKJV – If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.

When those that attack the True Gospel when given to them by other humans they show an attitude of haughtiness. Yet the mere fact that they attack the Word of God. Direct quotes from the Bible itself shows that they have no knowledge of the Word or Him who is the Word. However, they insist upon arguing to the point of nitpicking words from the Bible itself. Their goal and intent to be the victor to be shown right, to be shown righteous. Yet all they have accomplished is those things which divide the people. Which explains why there are so many denominations within Christendom.

What are the greatest commandments?

Matthew 22:37-40 NKJV – Jesus said to him, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Is this accomplished by seeking to prove who is correct when the Bible is the only thing that is when not taken out of context or used piecemeal. Several of these misconceptions have been addressed by me in the past. Not to prove I am right, but that the Bible is, because I am trying to follow the greatest commandments.

“Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent.”

Even though per the Bible many that profess to being “Christian.” God through His eternal and undying love for all of humanity, still offers redemption if all people do is to return to the teachings of the Bible and repent.

In the book of Hosea, we are taught of the fickle behavior of all humans. We are also taught of God’s undying and unending love. There are those within Christendom that say this is evidence that we cannot loose our salvation. However, as the book of Hosea teaches us as well as Christ Himself in John 15:1-6 this is the furthest thing from the truth.

Many that profess to being “Christian” go about living in and of the world yet know some aspect of God and knowledge of the Bible. This is what is being referred to here in these verses. However, this is where the greatest peril lies as well as is witnessed in Hebrews:

Hebrews 6:4-6 NKJV – For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.

it is due to their lackluster knowledge of God and His Word that causes them to fall short. Which in turn can result in Christ saying to them that they are not known to Him

Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV – “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

For Christ made in clear in Matthew 12 that evil cannot cast out demons. So those that say they cast out demons and performed miracles and even prophesied did just that because they were at that time a part of the Vine and known to Him. For these are His fruits. That He abided in them and they in Him. Yet they turned their backs upon God because humans are fickle.

This letter is their warning to return to Him.

I was in this spot myself in 2013. I know without any doubt that when I went through my year of Job that if I did not repent and return to Him, I would have been cast off to wither further and destine to be burned. However, due to what was shown in Hebrews chapter six too many are blind to this truth and as was mentioned earlier display their true loyalties to the flesh instead of the Spirit.

“He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.”

Many do not understand one of the key elements written in the Book of Revelation is what I have just quoted once again.

That key element is these Words:

“He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life”

let us look at it from a different angle.

He who does not overcome shall be left naked and I will blot out his name from the Book of Life.

Time is running out. Jesus Christ is soon to return. The rapture will occur for Christ Himself said there would be a time when people would simply disappear from the face of the earth. However, it is also made clear that most that expect to go in the rapture will be left behind. for most that accept salvation or repent do not leave before the tribulation but during the tribulation.

These are the ones that will suffer pain, hunger and torture. These are the one that will most likely be beheaded. Is this what you desire to experience? Or do you desire to meet Christ in the clouds at His return? It is up to you. Accept the Truth and downsize and turn to God. Or keep living in and of the world and be called the “lukewarm” who Christ will vomit from His Body.

God Bless
