This is why it is important to truly know the Bible

Just had a Facebook encounter with someone. One of my friends placed a poster post on her page and someone replied that the image, which was Christian based, would make a good tattoo. I couldn’t resist but to inform this person that tats are considered a sin.
They replied they had read the Bible cover to cover and never encountered this. My response:
Leviticus 19: 28 – Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
They replied that they were in the wrong, but here is the thing. This person is a perfect example of how most people are. They purport to be fully versed in the Bible, but they are not. I have read the Bible cover to cover and do I remember everything within it? No I do not. That is why I read and search through it and read it some more. That is what we are to do, daily.
It is due to this mentality that has led to this explosion of people getting tattoos, many doing so in ignorance that they are sinning against God. Do I hold this against them? No, I am simply trying to point out that all need to read the Bible. Are you aware that ignorance of what is and is not a sin is in itself a sin? Well it is. It is one of the first mentioned in the book of Leviticus.
Leviticus 4: 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them: 3 If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering.
Now remember that the blood sacrifices was given to the people of Israel as a means to be cleansed so they could commune with God. The only difference now is that Jesus’ blood is the sacrifice given, but still being ignorant of the Bible is a sin and so I encourage all to read the Bible truly from cover to cover and please please please do not read the New International Version of the Bible. It flawed and so is a lie to God.
Galatians 1: 8 – But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
I strongly suggest the use of the King James only due to the fact that it is the closest version of the Bible we have today to the original inspiration given to those that penned the scripture in Hebrew and Greek. If you truly wish to learn the Bible also consult Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance which gives you the original Hebrew and Greek.
If you do this you will learn the Bible and know what is true and glorious and good in the sight of the Lord.
