That is saying that the Bible is a myth a faction. This feeds into those that do believe that God is not real.
They themselves become doubting Thomas. So let’s look at that encounter between the risen Jesus Christ and Thomas.
John 20: 24 One of the twelve disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came. 25 They told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.”
26 Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. “Peace be with you,” he said. 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”
28 “My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed.
29 Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”
Now you have to understand That Christ appeared to them in the flesh within a locked room. Not in spirit, but in solid form. He instructed Thomas to touch his wounds. How can you touch something that is spiritual? It is physically impossible.
Now let’s look at the word “seen”
It is eido in the Greek and is defined as this at Bible Hub:
eídō (oida) – properly, to see with physical eyes (cf. Ro 1:11), as it naturally bridges to the metaphorical sense: perceiving (“mentally seeing”). This is akin to the expressions: “I see what You mean”; “I see what you are saying.”
And
/eídō (“seeing that becomes knowing”) then is a gateway to grasp spiritual truth (reality) from a physical plane. (eídō) then is physical seeing (sight) which should be the constant bridge to mental and spiritual seeing (comprehension).
Romans 1:11 – For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
There is two uses of the word “seen” verse 29. What I have just showed you is the second. Now to the first.
Horao – I see, look upon, experience.
This means he looked at Jesus Christ in the physical sense and was finally awakened to the true majesty of the Son of God before.
So yes there is a duality to faith and a belief in God. One of spiritual and one of physical. So when someone denies the physicality of Christ and in turn the physicality of God, those that do this diminish God.
When you are filled with the Holy Spirit you are filled with a physical sensation throughout your entire body. I can say this for I have felt this filling.
It has allowed me to grow in knowledge and understanding of the Word of God. It tells me that the return of Christ will be physical. It tells me that the Rapture will be physical. For how else can billions come to know they have not been living a true live for God unless the experience horao which in turn turns into eido.
It is due to a physical per-tribulation rapture which will be far smaller than many realize, which will allow:
Revelation 7:9 – After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. 10 And they were shouting with a great roar,
“Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!”
11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living beings. And they fell before the throne with their faces to the ground and worshiped God. 12 They sang,
“Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength belong to our God forever and ever! Amen.”
13 Then one of the twenty-four elders asked me, “Who are these who are clothed in white? Where did they come from?”
14 And I said to him, “Sir, you are the one who knows.”
Then he said to me, “These are the ones who died in the great tribulation. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white.
Most “religions” say it is “spiritual.” It is an awakening to the “truth” within the person to the way of the universe within themselves.
Any that teach “spirituality” do not teach God, or the Bible.
God is a physical being who created the physical universe. Are you a spirit? No you are a physical tangible being. If you are cut do you not bleed? Yet within you is a spirit. We are a walking and breathing duality.
Jesus Christ, the son of God in human form, bled blood when he was whip. He bled blood when the nails were hammered into his wrists and his angles.
He bled water and blood when his side was pierced. This is physical. This is real.
Thomas placed his fingers into these very wounds. They were real, they were physical.
Don’t be a doubting Thomas say it is all spiritual. For the result of this mentality may not end the way you expected.
