Discussion

Fear.

Why mention fear?

In the Old Testament it is used thirty-five times. Here are some important examples that should cause many to think and ponder:

Proverbs 14:27 – The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death.

Proverbs 15:33 – The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility.

Proverbs 22:4 – By humility and the fear of the LORD Are riches and honor and life.

Yet many reject these words. They say things like: “That is the old covenant.” The implication is that it has no bearing upon their lives any longer. They celebrate the presence of the Holy Spirit within. Saying things like it impowers them. it allows them to be special and to seek after all they desire here in this temporal realm while proclaiming to the world that they are “Christian.”

Yet when you think upon it in the light given to us by Jesus Christ. Fear should still be within in us. Why? Because we do have the Holy Ghost within us.

What does it say about this aspect in the New Testament?

Romans 12:1-2 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Now as I stated earlier many celebrate this, but when they do, they do not understand what is really within them. They carry Christ within them.

1 John 2:1-6 – My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. 3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

“He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.”

And why should they do this? Out of fear of God, for by so fearing they desire to honor God. Thus, seeking to emulate their Savior Jesus Christ.

When someone does not fear God what is the result?

2 Timothy 3:1-5 – But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Romans 3:18 – “THERE IS NO FEAR OF GOD BEFORE THEIR EYES.”

Which comes from Psalms.

Psalms 36:1 – To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the Servant of the LORD. An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes.

Those who celebrate the presence of the Holy Ghost within them show no fear of God. What does that mean? Well per Psalms they are disobedient to God. They are in essence wicked. Yet, they themselves believe they are holy, they are consecrated. They feel empowered to seek after what glorifies them, for they have God within them. Thus, showing no fear of defiling the Holy Spirit within them if they have been so blessed.

Going back to 1 John 2 I will re-read verse 4:

“He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”

Understand this:

Matthew 5:17-19 – “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Those that throw out “that is the old covenant” also have no fear of God. For in their eyes there are no commandments to follow any longer. Yet Christ in these verses of Matthew made it clear that the laws would not end until the Great White Throne judgement. For that is when the laws shall be fulfilled.

Many scoffs and laugh when they read or hear things like this. Why? Because they consider this to be not true. Unreal. For they are in perfect harmony with God as they live in their expensive homes. Driving their expensive cars and trucks. Dressed in their luxurious clothes. All because they are chosen and special to God through Jesus Christ. For He is within them.

Luke 16:14-17 – Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him. 15 And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God. 16 “The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it. 17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail.

Expensive homes as well as cars and trucks. Luxurious clothing. These are what is highly esteemed among men. So those that seek after these are per Jesus Christ are an abomination in the sight of God.

Does this not scare you? Does this not give you fear?

If it doesn’t …….. well I got nothing.

Here’s the thing.

Revelation 20:11-15 – Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

“And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”

“But my name is written in the Book of Like.” Someone just said.

Is it?

Matthew 7:13-23 – “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. 15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them. 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Revelation 3:1-6 – “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. 3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. 4 You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. 5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. 6 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

“I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life.”

Listen to that wording of that sentence. It says Christ can remove names from the Book of Life for those that do not overcome, that are not victorious. This speaks of our involvement in our salvation. That we have a duty to perform to God through Jesus Christ with the aid of the Holy Spirit, which resides within us.

Going back to Proverbs 14 I will restate that verse:

Proverbs 14:27 – The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death.

What is death to those that profess to being “Christian?”

Being cut off from God, from eternal life and our promised rewards that we are to store before the Throne of God. To be cast into the pit of fire and to suffer the second and eternal death.

Revelation 20:15 – And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Isaiah 66:24 – “And they shall go forth and look Upon the corpses of the men Who have transgressed against Me. For their worm does not die, And their fire is not quenched. They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.

Are you striving to be victorious over the desires of your flesh? Are you seeking to place treasures into heaven and not here on earth? Are you seeking less of the world and all that it offers humanity?

If not, you may not be seen as an overcomer and so will not make the first resurrection.

This is something to fear. For then you must count upon your trial before the Great White Throne alone and if you name was wiped out of the Book of Life then you will experience the second and eternal death with worms and gnashing of teeth.

God Bless

Insight into the Great White Throne Judgment — revisited — The Judgment Card

This is to those that accuse someone of “judging” when in fact they are only quoting or paraphrasing from the Bible. If the person living their life through the Bible points out that you are in error understand that is all they are doing. They are not judging you. Are they saying “you will roast in hell.”? Most likely not, for that IS judging. If they are point out what God say within the Bible they are trying to teach how to live a better life. A life that could lead to a glorious, honorable and immortal life with God. So the next time you choose to throw the “Judgement Card” who is really judging who?
So the other day someone posed a question to my wife we both assumed had to do with Romans 2:13.
They presented her with:
For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.
Which is from the Revised Standard Version of the Bible. The wife and I rely upon the King James since is it closer to the original by nearly half a millennia.
I personally go to the next level which is to use Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance as well as the Theological Dictionary of the New Testament. Why? Because this gets me as close as possible to the original inspiration of God upon the writers of the books of the Bible, even though there are some even closer, but I have no way of seeing those. In the KJV the verse reads as such:
(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

Also you must take the whole context of the discussion going on in the letter so we must expound further:
Romans 2: 1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. 2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. 3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? 4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? 5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; 10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: 11 For there is no respect of persons with God. 12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; 13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. 14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
The actual full context of the discussion as seen above is about people judging others yet at the same time they do the exact same thing. What this indicates is those that are hypocrites before God and so whenever someone throws out the “Judgement Card” by saying you are judging them they are in fact adding to their own sins against God. Especially when the person they are accusing of judging them is only showing that the Bible states this fact or that fact. It is not the person judging them, but the Word of God through the Bible. So in reality who is judging who? The one teaching what is right and true through the Bible or the one living the sin and stating that you are judging them? I will leave you to think upon that answer.
But on to the rest of the discussion within Romans. As the verses continue it comes to an understanding of how the Great White Throne Judgment will proceed and explains how those that have never heard of God or His Son Jesus will be judged by God Himself as well as those that have heard of Him. There those that have never heard of God. EVER. Yet they through their own conscience knew what was right and what was wrong. These are those that will be called “just” in the KJV or “righteous” in the RSV.
Yet those that have heard of God and live their life’s as is stated they should within the context of the Bible will be deemed justified for they have been good and loyal servants unto God.
What it truly boils down to is through your actions you will ultimately be judged by God and it is how you live your life is what will be judged by Him. If you read the Bible and learn what is right and what is wrong within the sight of God and you follow His instruction manual a.k.a. the Bible you will be deemed justified for you have followed God to the best of your ability by following the Bible as best you could.
Now it must be made clear. That those in today’s day and age and say they do not know God will still be judged by God as if they did know God. Why do I say this? For example everyone in the United States of America knows there is a God. They may choose not to follow Him or even deny He really is, but they have heard Him mentioned. This in itself makes them liable to follow the teaching of the Bible and to live their lives within it teaches.
I must also add that when applying Bible verses try not to take them out of context. Always make sure you have the full context of what is being discussed within the Bible verses that surround the verse you are referring because it can be twisted and preferred in a way that justifies the reader in allowing themselves to live a sinful life so remember this:
Romans 2: 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

An insight into the Great White Throne Judgment

There will come a time when all will know and acknowledge that God and His Son Christ are real. Before that happens there will still be this life we live. Many have come to think that this is all there is. Beyond this life is nothing. Even those that count themselves amongst the saved think this. They think that they live this life and sit upon a cloud in heaven doing nothing for eternity. This is a fallacy, but before you get to know what is the true eternity many will have to stand before God. In the verses below you see how God will address certain issues:
Romans 2: 5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; 10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: 11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
He spells out how the judgment will proceed within these verses. A play by play of something that will take perhaps centuries to accomplish. One by one God will call up those before Him and they will partake of His just review of everyone’s lives, if they knew of God or not. He also shows which many that deny Him already acknowledge. That being, that you can do moral and good acts without knowing of God and he will judge you upon your heart, conscience and thoughts and if found just will be given eternal life. The only difference being those that know God will be considered “justified.” What many do not understand that in this day and age most know of God and so are accountable under the law of the Bible and so are not going to be like those that have never heard of God and lived a good life. They will be held accountable to the Bible and will have to overcome the Bible verse Matthew 10:33.
What we can take from this is that there are those that will strife to do right, while there are those that will strife to do evil. These others that do unrighteous acts and are indignant to God shall suffer “tribulation and anguish” for all eternity.
Many today think that Christians hate them when they chose to live a sinful life. This is the furthest thing from the truth. Any true Christian will strife to make you understand that to continue to live in sin will result in an eternal sorrow and sadness for those that chose sin over God. God makes it clear you cannot serve Him and sin, you must either choose the “white” or the “black.” For it truly is black and white, you cannot serve two masters. It is either God or sin, and the latter is something Christians wish no one to have to endure the consequences of.
Isaiah 66:24 – And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

The time of earth’s judgment (a few facts from the Bible)

We are told no man can name the day it will occur, however we are given signs and events to look for and know it is near. There are many of these signs now by the way.
First, there will be what is called the rapture. People everywhere will vanish. Support for this is in Acts when Philip is transported hundreds of miles in the blink of an eye.
Those left will be sinners and Israel. The latter due to they being special in God’s eyes. Many left will be those that thought themselves to be Christian. Several of these will realize theirs error and fix themselves with God. It will be at a horrific cost though. Those in power will insist upon a chip being implanted and a mark placed upon those that remain upon the planet. Those that have made themselves right with God will refuse and be beheaded. We now know, due to recent events, how these beheadings will be done.
This will last three and a half years until the last to truly accept God dies. What will be left are those that deny and hate God, and also Israel.
Then Enoch and Elijah will return to earth as witnesses against those upon the entire earth at this time. They will try to kill them repeatedly but fail. This will last for nearly the next three and a half years, when they finally succeed in killing the two witnesses.
At this time, Israel will finally have the scales fall from their eyes and call Jesus the true Messiah and as they do Jesus will answer their cries and return to the earth with those that were called in the rapture behind Him. Those that denied God will mostly be killed.
Then Jesus will make His home in Jerusalem for a thousand years. While those from the rapture will join Christ and co-govern and become priests unto those left upon the earth in this millennium. Then once again, Satan will be loosened upon the world to tell his lies and see who will falter and fall.
When it is done, the Great White Throne Judgment will transpire. At this time any not taken in the rapture must stand before God. This will cover all that ever lived upon the earth if they knew God or not. They will be judged upon all their actions throughout their lives. What is important to understand, that it will be easier upon those that never heard of God, but if you know of God even if you deny He is real, it will be hardest upon you.
For you were given an opportunity to accept God, but you turned your back upon Him and so He will do the same for you upon that day. Those taken in the rapture were given an immortal body the moment they were called into heaven. When the White Throne Judgment takes place as you are risen from the dead to stand before the throne, you too will be given an immortal body. For we are all promised an eternal body.
What is different though is where you will spend the coming eternity. I will leave it to you to find out which you would rather live for the billions of years to come.
