Discussion

1 Timothy 6:17-19 NKJV – Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV – “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Acts 2:44-45 NKJV – Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.

1 John 3:17 NKJV – But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

Proverbs 30:7-9 NLT – O God, I beg two favors from you; let me have them before I die. First, help me never to tell a lie. Second, give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs. For if I grow rich, I may deny you and say, “Who is the LORD?” And if I am too poor, I may steal and thus insult God’s holy name.

How many at this very moment are saying “Who is the Lord?”

When we accept salvation, we are to leave the old world behind. Seek to be opposite the way we lived and what we sought after when we accepted the narrow and difficult path.

You know it is called “difficult” and it is “narrow” for a reason. When leaving our old lives behind. We are to repent, which means to no longer live or behave as we once did. What most don’t understand, or embrace is how they live is included in this change. This is seen straight from the Bible in the last verses we heard a bit ago from Proverbs. I will restate the core element of those verses.

“First, help me never to tell a lie. Second, give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs.”

Any who seek more are not following Christ. Period.

Understand. Don’t go saying they were never saved in the first place. Those that say this are judging, which is again a sin against God. Christ makes it clear that if we accept Him as our Savior we are to seek to be like Jesus Christ. Living a simple lifestyle with having our basic needs met. Spreading the Word of God. Then if we are given more then what is necessary, we are to use all the extra for God. It is called stewardship. Those that horde this extra wealth for themselves are considered bad stewards and again living in sin. This is why these words were written down by Peter:

2 Peter 2:20-22 NKJV – For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A DOG RETURNS TO HIS OWN VOMIT,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”

The vomit and the mire is living in the old life which is the world. Meaning those that keep and still seek after bigger, better and luxurious are wallowing through the mire and vomit. Why I say this is found here:

Luke 16:13-15 NKJV – “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him. And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

As I have established in past podcasts. The Greek word meaning “abomination” is used only six times in the New Testament. Four of those times it is used in the description of the antichrist and the apostate church which follows the antichrist. This is how those that pursue money and all it buys are seen to God. On the same level as the antichrist. Think on that as we continue.

How are we to live for God through Jesus Christ.

Romans 14:7-12 NLT – For we don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves. If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Christ died and rose again for this very purpose—to be Lord both of the living and of the dead. So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. For the Scriptures say, “‘As surely as I live,’ says the LORD, ‘every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will declare allegiance to God.’” Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God.

Which includes explaining why people kept their fancy and expensive items and homes instead of using their money to spread the Word of God. To help those in need. Gathering unto themselves treasures in heaven not on earth.

James 1:27 NKJV – Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Isaiah 1:17 NKJV – Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.

We are to give most our earthly wealth away to those in dire straits. For since we have God within us and we have our needs met then we are blessed. For if we choose to be those that are called an abomination in the sight of God we must accept what is to come.

Malachi 3:5 NKJV – And I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness Against sorcerers, Against adulterers, Against perjurers, Against those who exploit wage earners and widows and orphans, And against those who turn away an alien—Because they do not fear Me,” Says the LORD of hosts.

However, Christ made it clear to us how most would act and respond to the Truth.

Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV – “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Many refuse to accept these verses are speaking about them.  Because they are saved, they are born again. They are filled with the Holy Spirit. They forget that a few verses later that Christ says this as well:

Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV – “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Again, people will protest. They insist this does not apply to them. They will insist these are not the Christians Christ is referring to here. As I have established per the Words of Christ Himself in Matthew 12 only those that are followers of Christ can cast out demons. Therefore, those that said these words at the Great White Throne Judgement were at one time born again. However due to their lust for worldly rewards they turned their backs upon God. Refusing to abide upon the Vine and became the lukewarm.

James 3:14-16 NKJV – But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.

John 15:1-6 NKJV – “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

Revelation 3:15-19 NKJV – “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

Understand that you are upon the path to death and that you may not be victorious and have your name blotted out of the Book of Life.

Revelation 3:1-5 NKJV – “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

Time is running out. You must take action now to repent. You must sell off all your possessions and truly follow Christ.

Mark 10:17-25 NKJV – Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. You know the commandments: ‘DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY,’ ‘DO NOT MURDER,’ ‘DO NOT STEAL,’ ‘DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘HONOR YOUR FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER.'” And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.” Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

“One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”

Do this now. Downsize. Move into an apartment or a RV. Sell off all the items you do not require to live day to day. Then give to those in need. Fix your relationship with Christ now. Learn the Bible for yourself and then spread the Word of God. This is your task if you profess to being a child of God. If you deny this or laugh at these words you are denying God you are mocking God. Woe unto those that do not heed these warnings. For Christ is soon to return, and if you reject these warnings. Don’t be surprised if God rejects you upon the return of His Son.

God Bless.
