This has become one of the main tools of those in the TV and motion picture industry. What is really sad is that so many buy into it. Mainly, because they have not been exposed to any true from of Christianity. This is one of the effects that is the result of removing God from the school systems and off of the streets.
In a recent show I was watching that was a BBC production. The lead character described a so called “Christian” couple as cultic. They then proceeded to show them as sexually deviant as well as liars and thieves. Since Christianity on whole is on a mass decline not only within Great Britain, but all of Europe. There are other factors involved here, but that is a topic for another time. People are buying the bill of goods they are being sold. Just for the record, being Christian and being married doesn’t mean the couples refrain from sex. If they love each other then they will make love, gee and they may even do it in the woods….. As long as they thought they were totally alone, that is. Being “Christian” is not becoming prudish as is another image that is being shoved upon the masses. Christians are ordinary people, living ordinary lives. Those that truly follow the teaching of the Bible, just have respect for all others that equates to a version of common courtesy.
This imagery of portraying those that decide to follow God as something that is lower, something that is perverted, and something that is base and sickening. These are the tools of those that in actuality are afraid and scared. I wish to show you 2 Peter 2 and show you has those of the world and false teachers, those that deny God, behave:
1 – But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. 3 In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed. 4 For God did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell, in gloomy pits of darkness, where they are being held until the Day of Judgment. 5 And God did not spare the ancient world—except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood. 6 Later, God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into heaps of ashes. He made them an example of what will happen to ungodly people. 7 But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him. 8 Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day. 9 So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment. 10 He is especially hard on those who follow their own twisted sexual desire, and who despise authority. These people are proud and arrogant, daring even to scoff at supernatural beings without so much as trembling. 11 But the angels, who are far greater in power and strength, do not dare to bring from the Lord a charge of blasphemy against those supernatural beings. 12 These false teachers are like unthinking animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed. They scoff at things they do not understand, and like animals, they will be destroyed. 13 Their destruction is their reward for the harm they have done. They love to indulge in evil pleasures in broad daylight. They are a disgrace and a stain among you. They delight in deception even as they eat with you in your fellowship meals. 14 They commit adultery with their eyes, and their desire for sin is never satisfied. They lure unstable people into sin, and they are well trained in greed. They live under God’s curse. 15 They have wandered off the right road and followed the footsteps of Balaam son of Beor, who loved to earn money by doing wrong. 16 But Balaam was stopped from his mad course when his donkey rebuked him with a human voice. 17 These people are as useless as dried-up springs or as mist blown away by the wind. They are doomed to blackest darkness. 18 They brag about themselves with empty, foolish boasting. With an appeal to twisted sexual desires, they lure back into sin those who have barely escaped from a lifestyle of deception. 19 They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you. 20 And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before. 21 It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life. 22 They prove the truth of this proverb: “A dog returns to its vomit.” And another says, “A washed pig returns to the mud.”
These verses reflect people not only in the times this letter was written, but have those within the TV and motion picture industry today. They are also false teachers for they have perverted the ways of righteousness in the ways and teachings of the Lord. Which true Christians strive to follow as best they can.
Christianity is not a threat to true civilization, it is the opposite. Those that are a threat to civilization are those that see Christianity as something that is to be seen as sordid, and despicable. For deep down inside within their own souls a part of them knows the real truth, and it scares them to a point that they must lash out at that which is a threat to what they see as their happiness. Even though this so-called happiness will lead to an eternal and undying sorrow.
Christian
Millennial outreach #11
Why is it seen as a choice?
I am writing this outreach to help those that have not heard or understand why Christians see homosexuality as a choice and not “your nature,” i.e. the way you are born.
Hebrews 9:22 – In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.
Revelation 1:5 – and from Jesus Christ. He is the faithful witness to these things, the first to rise from the dead, and the ruler of all the kings of the world. All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us.
Ephesians 1:7 – He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.
I use these three verses as a jumping board. With them we see that the only way God can “see” us is without sin, and that is accomplished through the blood of Jesus Christ. Now read this:
Jeremiah 1:5 “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”
So how could Jeremiah have been seen? In his time a lamb, a symbol of Jesus Christ, had to be sacrificed to be seen by God. Yet he was seen within the womb.
The implication is clear. We are sinless within the womb and only become exposed to sin upon birth. This is also backed up by the teaching of “free-will.”
“Free-will” is the understanding that each person decides their fate, which again is reinforced by teachings in the Bible of the importance to teach our children of the Bible including what is seen as sin and what is not.
As you can tell it is a complex and interwoven web of knowledge that must be instilled and taught. This also explains why the age of accountability does not begin until thirteen. Thus the reason for the Bar Mitzvah and the Bat Mitzvah at thirteen for those of the Jewish faith. It also explains how God sees those that do harm to children be it physical or mental has done a grievous sin (Matthew 18:6).
So let’s recap slightly:
1) In the womb a person is pure and sinless, so cannot come out of the womb already burdened with a sin within them.
2) We are to teach children the Bible and what is right and wrong, or in other words, what is a sin and what is not a sin.
3) Why? Because of free-will. Our ability to choose if we will sin or not sin and so bare the responsibly for our choices.
Now let’s look at how “nature” is seen by Christianity. For this we need to look to Romans 1. It is a long read but it fully addresses this perfectly.
18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. 21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. 28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. 29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. 30 They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. 31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. 32 They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.
“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities” This is referring to nature. God created nature. God is nature.
“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities” God allowed this to use their free-will to do as they please. So whenever you see something bad happen and say “Where is God?” This is your answer. It is not God but the person or persons themselves basically flipping off God.
Now we come to the core of this post.
“They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.
In the King James it comes this way:
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
“Which is against nature”
Now it will be here that someone say “There is homosexuality in wildlife.”
Those that say this are echoing the verses you just read. They “knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.”
Comparing a being that can build buidlings, create machines, television and fly to the moon with the animals that live off the “need” impulses. The need to eat, because they hunger. The need to drink because they thirst. The need to breed because their system causes them to need a mate, is utterly foolish.
All species upon this planet are meant to propagate their kind and continue that said species. This is the closest we can be compared to wildlife. With that base comparison any that do not cause offspring are against nature. Only a male mating with a female causes propagation. So any that choose through free-will not to live this way are against nature, and so are against God and so are living in sin. This is why Christians see homosexuality have chosen to do so and are living in sin.
The “White Knight Syndrome” vs. being a good Christian man
re-post
Recently I was described as having “White Knight Syndrome.” So I got curious and looked to see if there really was such a thing and guess what, there is. The way it was described in short was a man that seeks out several women at once that wants to rescue them from their problems and feels that women are weak and require a strong man to come to their aid amongst other non-appealing traits.
I read this and just said “You have to be kidding.”
I really do not fit into this model not even in the slightest. Being a Christian I have learned through study and pray as well as trial and error, that if you wish to be the head of the household you are in fact becoming the leader of it. It says plainly in the Bible that if you lead you must become a servant. So as a Christian male and head of a household I am to place all within this household before myself and so be a servant unto them.
Now that does not mean you become a butler and wait upon everyone in the house, catering to their every need like I have read some women actually want, which also describes my fist wife. Being a Christian man, I know that I am to strive to make those within my home happy. I do this through working a job and providing an income. I do this by providing a roof over our heads. I do this by see that all are fed, clothed and given a good education if they are my children.
This must all be done before I consider doing anything for myself. Does this mean I have to rescue the woman I call my wife? No. Admittedly, my two marriages have not worked out, one due to my first wife wanting a butler, which she now has. The second is a bit more difficult to explain, but there was really no “White Knight Syndrome” involved. By the way, this is where the part of “trial and error” came into play as I mentioned earlier.
What I do know is that being a Christian man is that you care, especially for those that you love and cherish. Sure, you would like to “rescue” them from time to time, but that cannot happen all the time. They need to fall then pick themselves up, and be allowed to turn to God and seek Him out.
(UPDATE)
When I wrote this I was divorced for the 2nd time. I have since remarried. I found it interesting and prove that God is real in this third instance.
I knew I couldn’t be unmarried for I knew I would live in sin. However, I had grown unhappy with how things were going with looking for someone new. I turned it over to God. That same week, my now wife turned over her frustration on the same issue to God. We then after being on “Christian Mingle” for two year found each other there for the first time.
My wife is my soulmate and the person God sent to rescue me, not the other way around. I have never been happier in my life. All praise and glory to the Lord Almighty through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ.
Review: Assassin’s Creed (2016)
A movies based off the video game series of the same name. A man finds out that his DNA contains the live memories of all his ancestors. Discovers himself being controlled by those that are the enemy of his forefathers. Even though I have reached an age of maturity and education. I did find the story intriguing.
Once again I saw the typical manipulation through imagery and some truth twisted to give a false narrative, which in turn would cause people to think incorrectly. As was well established during World War II, movies do influence how people think, act and behave. This movie though interesting to watch still maintained this same base approach.
The villains. The Templars. In actuality an Illuminati like Socialist shadow organization, yet presented as those that governor religion. Controlled and run by Socialist elitist. Their main leader a female with nearly the same hair cut as Hilary Clinton. Not a coincidence by the way. She makes clear when she is first seen that the human masses are ripe for control and manipulation through their selfishness and desires to please only themselves. The purist of Socialist dogma.
The heroes. The Assassins. Anarchist, not governor by any rules yet their ultimate goal is to protest free-will.
Here is the kicker though. God created humanity with free-will on purpose. For His ultimate desire is to have those that follow Him and accept His Son as their Savior do so freely and willingly due to free-will. For God, unlike those of the villainy within this movie, wishes to have true and complete fellowship with those that accept the teachings of the Bible.
Now I have never been a fan of religions, and anyone who truly understands the Bible will agree with me. For within religions you end up with those like the villains of the movies that wish to manipulate and control the masses. This was born out in the early years of the Catholic Church which led to the Reformation. Why else does it explain, why when we goes to the original wording of the New Testament we look to the Greek and not the Latin? For the Latin version had been twisted and perverted to be nothing but control of the masses, and not the true teachings of the Bible.
But enough of that.
The story was well written and as is becoming the standard now the British actors are becoming those to turn to when you wish to see an excellent acting performance.

The trap “freedom” otherwise known as a lack of restrictions
The left has been slowly destroying the truth for over a hundred years now. Twisting the truth and blocking it from as many as possible. They promise you the freedom to live your life as you want to. They allow you to live a life that those that call themselves “Christian” say is wrong and something that will make you unsavory. They make those that follow the teachings of the Bible as the villain, evil, monsters. This is the trap, these are the lies.
It is something that is difficult to comprehend in just one post, but it is something those reading this need to seriously start to wonder about. What if what you have been told is not true? What if the Bible does have truth to it?
Here is the thing. You at this moment feel that everything is wonderful. You are living free. You are living a life the way you want. Free to live it as you see fit. Without rules and constraints, but is this the real freedom that has been drilled into most of the populous of the world itself? Ponder upon that for a few moments.
This life gives you a lot of things. People seek after wealth, importance and other things. They wish to live like those that appear on the screens and desire to be like them. They limit all their wants and desires to this lifetime.
However, what if this one hundred or so years is not all there is. What if there is more to this existence than this mere life time? What if this life time is only a test? A test to see if we are going to live the true “freedom.” A freedom that would allow us to fly and live experiences that people only dream about. That they write about in books, TV and movies. These “fantasies” that they call only dreams.
I can honestly say that I don’t know what will be what is beyond what is written in the Bible. One thousand years after the return of Christ and after the Great White Throne Judgment the eternal life times the Bible promises will begin for all.
You have read, seen and dreamed about humanity elevating to a higher level. This is part of the mechanism of the trap. A promise in a fantasy, a dream, but it is a reality that all will reach. All will accomplish. But here is the problem. Why is there a trap?
There is a choice that all must make, but many, due to the events of the last hundred years, aren’t even aware there really is a choice. Most don’t understand, nor do they ever wish to know the Bible. Many have been told it is false teachings. That it is something from a time when humanity was ignorant. So how can they see what or what is not real. What or what is not a trap.
Are you willing to have your life torn apart because you have been living what you thought to be true, but in reality is a lie? Are you willing to take a chance to not live one hundred years but billions? What awaits in the future for those that choose to follow the teaching of the Bible? What if the Bible is totally true? Then this life you now live without Jesus Christ is the trap. True traps when you try to escape them are painful. They hurt they tear and they destroy, but if you escape you are happier than you were while you were in the trap. Are you willing to take the chance?
The ultimate test…. How is your score today?
What many have never realized is that the very life they are living at this very moment is a test, the ultimate test. It is the ultimate puzzle, the ultimate question and answer, the ultimate essay, the ultimate thesis.
Many will say no it is not, but yes it is. They will then say there is no instruction, no rules so it is no test, but yes there is. We are told within it that all must teach the children, before the age of accountability, these rules so when the time comes they will be well prepared on which turn within the maze of life they should take on that particular moment on a particular day. Many times there will be multiple choice questions given and it is up to the person to answer. Sometimes with only less than a second to respond then there will be other days that it can take minutes, hours, days and even years to answer the question correctly. It is a test that has a passing grade and a failing grade, and far too many that think they are passing are failing at this time. Because it is either or, not somewhere in the middle, for there is no middle.
But what is this instruction manual? What is the grading system? It is the Bible and the grading system is following it and not doing what it says you must not do. Yet many go about this world today saying: “that is a lie that is not true. I can live in my sin and God will still accept me as I am.” BBBUUUUZZZZZ …. Automatic fail, sorry wrong answer, not going to work.
One of the primary rules after asking Jesus Christ into your heart is to repent from sin.
In the Hebrew repent is “nacham” which means to be sorry, but in the Greek it is “metanoeo,” which means to think differently or afterwards, i.e. reconsider. To be sorry for what you have done yet to reconsider your lifestyle and to start to think differently; to change one’s mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one’s past sins. In the Hebrew there was the sacrifice to fall back upon, but that was taken away when Christ hung upon the cross in our place. Now we must turn away from the sin for we have no sacrifice to fall back upon to cleanse us once again for Christ cannot return onto that cross again. (Hebrews 6:4-8)
If you live in a sin and are not made sick to your stomach when you slip and fall back into it then you have not experienced true repentance. You love the sin over your desire to be one of the winners, one of the ones that God will acknowledge as having passed His many tests. Any that says you can live within your sin and still be one with God has lied to you for they themselves have failed the test and do not wish to be within the loser circle allow. For misery truly does enjoy company.
This is why it is so important to read the instruction manual, the Bible. Know what is truly right and know what is truly bad. Too many think they can live their lives as if just saying the words: “I am a Christian” is enough, it is not. You must truly live the life of a Christian. Will we slip and fall time to time? Yes we will, but if we have a truly repentant heart then we will strife not to repeat that particular sin once again because it will sicken our hearts and our stomachs at having failed God. How do I know this? Because that is how I feel every time I let God down.
You cannot live in a sin and even attempt to legitimize it through the laws of man for only the laws of God truly apply within this test. If you attempt to legitimize it you are in actuality compounding that sin for by legitimizing it you are saying the sin is greater than God and nothing is greater than Him.
This is what needs to be taught. This is what needs to be understood. For as a “Christian” we are told to love all, but to truly give this love we must reprove, rebuke and exhort (2 Timothy 4:1-5). What I am doing here is exhorting. I am trying to explain in love that if you truly wish to live the eternal life which is the reward for passing the test, which is this present life, you must turn away from sin, not embrace it and say to yourself “God loves me as I am.” Yes God loves you, but he hates the sin, so how can He fully love you if you are tainted with something that repels Him. Love is a two way street, if you truly and completely love God as we are told we must do (Mark 12:30), then you will willingly turn from your sin. Will it be painful? Yes, for God is our parent and a parent chastises that which he loves (Proverb 13:24). Any that says otherwise has failed the test. Any not willing to hear, has failed the test. There will be millions of winners, but there will be billions of losers, for the road to everlasting life is a narrow and arduous road(Matthew 7:13-14), but it is a road that must be taken if you wish to pass the ultimate test.
Movies, TV and Christianity
This has been an ongoing issue basically for as long movies have been in existence. One think that all agree upon when looked upon in the correct light. Movies affect how you think. This was reinforced during World War II when Hollywood directors went into the military and applied their profession to the war. Through their work we got film events like the Battle of Midway, and the Aleutian Islands, as well as events like the first American Bomber to complete 25 mission with the same crew, the Memphis Bell. These directors knew that movies influenced how people thought and behaved. This has never changed.
I am not saying Christians should totally stop watching movies, even though some have. Many as they grow in their faith and understanding of the Bible come to comprehend that movies and TV are something that they need to be more selective about. I myself tend to watch older movies that still had a morality within them that was instituted by the production code of 1934 for movies in the 1930s due to an increase in nudity and other unsavory aspects. An Example, are you aware that Maureem O’Sullivan appeared nude in “Tarzan of the Apes” in 1932. You can see this in the unedited version of the movies. It was this movie and others that brought about the code for movies due to Christian uproar.
Too many watch movies and TV and just take what they see for granted not thinking that their actions have consequences. Their participation actually encourages more movies and TV shows to be made with the same aspects. A TV show called “Will and Grace” enabled the TV series “Modern Family.” The behavior shown in these series are counter to Christian teachings and thinking. However many that call themselves “Christian” watched and still watch these shows. So they encourage sin and thus per James 4:17 are in turn sinning themselves. Christians need to be more active with their faith and beliefs in how they choose what they are going to partake and spend their money upon including movies and TV.
Whenever I see something that is counter to the teachings of the Bible I no longer watch them. Thus I do not give my time or my money to these TV shows and movies. For those in Hollywood have shown time and again that they will do all in their power to influences how you think, even if it is only on the screen for a few seconds at first. That few seconds will turn into minutes then hours then all the time. It is up to you as a Christian where you wish to stand, with God or with liberal Hollywood.
Review: Silence (2016)
“Silence,” is the story of a priest who goes to Japan in the 15th century in search of his mentor. The story covers the persecution of Christians in the Nagasaki province of this island nation. As the journey progress we see the horrid and brutal treatment of Japanese Christians as well as some priests.
The underlying message that the liberal Hollywood was trying to convey through this movie was the need to today’s Christians to also become silent and hide the fact that they are Christian or in time they to would face the same fate as was bestowed upon the 15th century Japanese Christians as well as the Jews and Christians which opposed the Socialist agenda of the Third Reich of the National Socialist German Workers Party of the 1930 and 40, in Germany, otherwise known as the Nazi Party.
The major difference being that in the trials that are to come for Christianity those that are left cannot be silent. They cannot step upon the image of Christ or as will be required in the time to come. To accept the mark of the Antichrist. For those that are left you must never take the mark and must face the horrors and tortures as those that died at the hands of the those now long dead Japanese and those within the Nazi government.

What is the difference between pride and selfishness?
re-post —- originally posted in 2/15 and shows reference to then President Obama
The other day I had a discussion with someone and I stated that I believed selfishness to be the ultimate sin. They replied stating no it is pride.
Now I will not argue that in the Bible it does implicate that it is pride, but let’s take a good look at that word.
Pride a high or inordinate opinion of one’s own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc. Per Dictionary.com
This SELF-glorification and believe that you are better then all others. Is this not a selfish, self-serving mentality? Yes it is. So to me there is absolutely no difference between these two words. In fact they seem to complement each other.
In Luke 14 Jesus states this: “For whosoever exalteth (be prideful) himself shall be abased (be brought low); and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. “
Jesus also states that those that wish to lead need to be a servant unto those that you wish to lead (Mark 10:44). This again is humility and the lack of pride and selfishness. Most in some type of leadership roll these days are not humble. They are prideful and many are selfish and self-serving.
We need to seek out leaders that are reluctant to lead, but still capable of doing so. Ones that seeks the true good for all, placing all others before themselves and their own personal agenda.
“But there is no such person!” you shout out. That is a possibility, but still we must seek one out and support such people, for if we do we can fix more than has been fixed in the last decade. Most of this last decade has had a person in the White House that is petty, selfish, self-serving and only wish to place forth ideas and doctrines that have resulted in a nation in crisis.
All because there is no true understanding of the Bible by most of those that live in the United States for they are “too busy” to take the time to learn what is right, what is pure and what is holy. For only some that fully reads and understands the Bible can hope to achieve what is glorious in the sight of God, and they can only accomplish this through humility.
Minimalism, tiny houses, liberals and Christianity
A trend that has been growing for the last four to five years has been the sudden realization that less is better. Well that is what several shows, documentaries and liberal movements have led many to believe.
The Christian faith, something that many on the left wish to deny, has always taught to live in moderation. Not to live in excess or luxurious ways. This is something that many that call themselves “Christian” have forgotten or never knew. Why? Mainly because they took the word of a person in a pulpit or on a dais that never told them that they were sinning by seeking to be wealthy and seeking after the bigger and best things. Again why? Because those that were called leaders of the church sought after worldly rewards themselves. Becoming sinners themselves. So how could they teach of moderation? To do so would label them as what they were or are, hypocrites.
Now suddenly those upon the left have discovered this great idea. Living with less. However, what is the real reason for this sudden interest to be able to live with less? The answer, Socialism. A key element in the control of the masses is to keep them poor and broke. A prime and current example: Venezuela. So those that embrace this great “new” trend to live with less will be those that will become the leaders of this “new” movement and in time they see themselves rising to live in the promised land of temporal elitism. The thing is those that are the elitist now and their offspring and chosen select, which are those that associate with them on a daily basis, will be the only ones that ever make it to elitism; otherwise known as the rich and famous. This was seen with the royalty and their elitist mentality that eventually led to both the American and French Revolutions.
There is nothing new here. It is just people awakening, or more accurately, reawakening to the truth. That they are living with more than they need or require. For deep within our souls, be they saint or sinner, we know what is right. This is explained in Romans 1.
