Faith without works is dead, but what does that mean?

That is what I have been led to address. It is said twice in James the same wording is used both times in the Greek. So here it goes:
James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Faith – pistis – faith, belief, trust, confidence; fidelity, faithfulness.
In the pure Greek meaning of the word “pistis” it has the actual and passive sense of “trusting” and “worthy of trust.”
Paul placed “pistis” or “faith” at the core of theology. We must remember that Paul was originally a Pharisee and had persecuted early Christians before his encounter with the risen Jesus. To quote from the Theological Dictionary of the New Testament (NTD) –
“Primarily, it is acceptance of the kerygma, i.e. subjection to the way of salvation ordained by God and opened up in Christ.”
Trust me “kerygma” threw me for a loop also, so we need to understand that as well:
Kerygma (from the Greek word κήρυγμα kérugma) is a Greek word used in the New Testament for “preaching” (see Luke 4:18-19, Romans 10:14, Matthew 3:1). It is related to the Greek verb κηρύσσω kērússō meaning, literally, “to cry or proclaim as a herald” and used in the sense of “to proclaim, announce, preach”.
So to Paul this was the key element of his teachings. Pure faith and belief in God and that His Son is Jesus Christ.
Works – labor, action, deed
a) Labor – Noun – work, especially hard physical work. Verb – work hard; make great effort
b) Action – the fact or process of doing something, typically to achieve an aim; a thing done; an act
c) Deed – an action that is performed intentionally or consciously
I wish to look more deeply in the word “action” especially the “process of doing something” and “an act.”
When you hear the wording “process of doing something” you think of an endeavor. Something that takes a great deal of time to accomplish.
Now “an act” that is where I really which to delve:
One of the meanings of act is defined as “behave in the way specified.”
But where is a type of behavior specified for Christians? The answer is the Bible. So our labor, our actions, and our deeds must work within the specified nature of the Bible.
So faith in God through His Son Jesus leads us to follow the teachings of Christ and His disciples, which is the Bible. Meaning we must follow and adhere to what is written within these letters and that we are to repent of our sins and strife to become a true reflection of Jesus Christ.
If we do not follow the Bible than it is “dead.”
Dead – nekros – (a) adj: dead, lifeless, subject to death, mortal, (b) noun: a dead body, a corpse. Per the NTD in this particular case it could infer “lifeless” or “lifelessness.”
Lifelessness – 1. Having no life; inanimate; 2. Having lost life; dead; 3. Not inhabited by living beings or capable of sustaining life.
So even though you are walking about and have faith, but do not follow the teaching of the Bible and call that which is a sin a sin and refrain from it you are incapable of eternal life and so are dead in the eyes of God.

“Join us in our sin” is all that is being spoken by many

These are the words of many. They do not understand how we cannot compromise our faith in God. They are not seeing that it is they that turned their backs upon God.
In my last two post I have spelled out where I stand in the current election. Most are blaming those like myself that are standing upon our faith in God over their desire to be seen as right.
I have pointed out that Donald Trump is a false teacher and is a world leader. I have pointed out that from the words Jesus Christ Himself (Mark 10:42-45). The true Head of the Church, that we are commanded by our faith in Him and His Father the Creator of the universe, to ONLY seek out servant leaders. All those that made it clear and even stated that they were “servant leaders” were resoundingly reject by most that profess they are “Christian.”
Just because someone claims to be “Christian” does not make them one. It is their actions. It is both faith and works. It is not faith alone nor is it works alone for faith without works is dead (James 2:14-26). This was a time when both faith and works were required by those that professed to be “Christian.” Faith that God through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ could heal this shattered nation. A shattering that was caused by those that now deny that they even voted for the current president of this nation. I listen everywhere and can find none that openly admits they voted for the man now in the white house that profess to be “Christian,” yet I know many did. Through works they were to follow the teachings of the Bible they profess they are following and vote for a “servant leader.” Yet they did not follow the works required by the verses of James 2. This is how they should have been voting the moment they accepted Christ as their Savior, yet they have not.
They are now in the same group of people that are now trying to shame those like myself that will not turn from Jesus and His instructions. They had their chance to truly follow God and they say now you must follow us into damnation. Yes I said damnation.
Now the anger comes to the forefront. It is an anger that comes not from being right. It is an anger that comes from being afraid.
“Could he be right?” Somewhere deep inside their conscience comes the words.
My answer is this. I am not right, nor am I wrong. It is the Word of God that is right. I refuse to turn from it. I will not abandon God. I will not turn from my Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. It is their choice that they belief they know better than God.
God’s judgment for this nation will continue and it will be worse. What can change it?
REPENT. Turn away from the world and the worldly. Return to God. Return to Jesus Christ.
Is there time to get someone into the white house that is a “servant leader?” I honestly do not know. Personally I doubt it, but that would be me limiting God.
Do I see those that call themselves “Christian” turning from their lockstep behind the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party? No, which is truly sad for due to their free-will actions they are showing they no longer bear fruit for the Vine (John 15).
Understand this. Those that called themselves “Christian” and were warned not to listen to the lies and not to fall for the showmanship yet they still did disobeyed the direct words of Jesus Christ Himself from the books of Mark 10:44 and Matthew 20:27. They have disobeyed Christ Himself. They have sinned.
I am not perfect, nor will I ever be until I put on the eternal body, but I will not disobey Christ if I can help it. This I can help. This I have a say so in due to free-will. I pick Christ. If that means that this nation must loss the Supreme Court to those that will continue to no longer follow the constitution of this nation. If that means that this nation must suffer greatly under those left running. Understand this. It is not the fault of those that are choosing to stand with God. It is not the fault of those choosing to stand with Jesus Christ.
It is the fault of those that turned to Donald Trump as their savior when they at one time professed Jesus Christ to be their Savior. So they cannot ask those that choose Christ to join in with them in their sin and they must accept that those that choose God, choose righteousness over sin.
If you cannot accept this concept or understand what I just said and are calling me an idiot, are calling me ignorant, are calling me crazy, and are calling me a wacko. Then understand this. If those that are saying these words at this very moment or words that echo the meanings of these words. Understand that they do not know the Bible. Understand that they may not truly know salvation. Understand that they may stand before Jesus Christ one day and He will turn to them and say:
“I never knew you.”
Matthew 7:20 – Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Christians get accuses of “imposing” our values on to others, yet…..

I find it amazing (please note sarcasm), that people accuse those that believe there is a God and there is consequences for sinning, of imposing Christian beliefs and values onto them. When they insist on imposing their lack of values, morals and common respect down upon those that are “Christian.” Is this not the height of hypocrisy? By the way the answer is: YES!
Impose is defined as: to cause (something, such as a tax, fine, rule, or punishment) to affect someone or something by using your authority
: to establish or create (something unwanted) in a forceful or harmful way
: to force someone to accept (something or yourself)
Now you see those accusing Christians of imposing things upon them are the ones that are actually doing the imposing. They protest and get up and leave events that are counter to what they wish to have things be. They are the ones imposing.
Society has been built upon laws that found their origin within the Bible for most of western nations that now exist. These laws have been in action for over fifteen hundred years and for the most part served humanity well. These laws were not imposed upon them. They were born into them. How can something be imposed upon someone if it is already a part of a culture? It cannot.
Yet they berated, degraded and even pervert laws to fit their “moral” or more accurately “lack of moral” disposition.
So who here is really doing the imposing? It is not Christianity, nor is it the Constitution or the bill of right.
Christianity is not something that can be shoved down upon you. Now throughout history some will point out that “Christianity was shoved onto others.” This is in actuality not true. There have been those in the name of religion and even of God that have tried to impose their way of thinking onto other cultures, but this is the furthest thing from the truth. For the way these people thought were in fact not living a true Christian lifestyle.
Example: the Crusades – This was instituted by a man who was not following anything within the Bible to support or condone the bloodshed that this invasion of the Holy Lands caused.
Humanity is the cause of all evil events that take place in this world. So those now imposing their lack of values, morals and even believes are the true evil today. Yet they will never accept this description of themselves since in their eyes they have more knowledge than ANY that has ever lived before them except those that encourage and teach their rebellion.
Rebellion: an effort by many people to change the government or leader of a country by the use of protest or violence
: open opposition toward a person or group in authority
: refusal to obey rules or accept normal standards of behavior, dress, etc.
Wow… that sure compares to the word “impose” doesn’t it.
Those that truly follow Christ have one true goal in mind. The desire to see all be able to see and have a joyous eternal life. A life that will not last up to one hundred years, but will last billions upon billions of years.
Those that truly understand Christianity see those that are rebellion and imposing their lack of morals and values upon society at large who as their neighbors that they wish to welcome into this wondrous and eternal life, but to do this those that deny Christ must stop imposing their corrupted values upon the world and turn to Jesus Christ.
But they can only turn to Christ on their own. No one can impose it upon them, and to say that it can be imposed upon you has no true concept or understanding of the word “faith.” For true “faith” is something that could never be imposed upon someone for it must come from within the individual themselves.

Understanding who are, or more accurately, who will be the “elect”


One trend that I hear and see is a belief that certain people in this world, no matter how they act or behave are “chosen,” “select,” “elect.” In my recent series on the Olivet Discourse I hit upon this theme and I now wish to expand upon it further.
To understand who the “elect” are we must look at Jesus Christ’s point of view when He talked to His apostles on the Mount of Olives just a few days before His arrest by the Pharisees. Jesus made it very clear when you read His wording of His teachings correctly. That He was here in this plain of existence for the Jewish people. To be their Messiah. The descendants of Abraham and Jacob rejected Him as was foretold in the book of Isaiah. However, this did not change His mandate. When a gentile woman saw the truth of who He was. He told her He was not here for the gentiles, yet He still accepted her.
My point. When he was speaking His discourse upon the Mount of Olives. He was speaking to the Jewish people still for that was still His mandate given Him by His Father the Lord God.
When He spoke of the “elect” being gathered just before His return. He is only speaking of those chosen from within the tribes of Israel. This is spelled out in Revelation 7:
Revelation 7: 2 And I saw another angel coming up from the east, carrying the seal of the living God. And he shouted to those four angels, who had been given power to harm land and sea, 3 “Wait! Don’t harm the land or the sea or the trees until we have placed the seal of God on the foreheads of his servants.” 4 And I heard how many were marked with the seal of God—144,000 were sealed from all the tribes of Israel: 5 from Judah 12,000 from Reuben 12,000 from Gad 12,000 6 from Asher 12,000 from Naphtali 12,000 from Manasseh 12,000 7 from Simeon 12,000 from Levi 12,000 from Issachar 12,000 8 from Zebulun 12,000 from Joseph 12,000 from Benjamin 12,000
So as is made clear in these verse. These are the elect, the select. Chosen and picked from each of the twelves tribes of Israel.
“Then what of those that are ‘Christian?’” someone asks.
As was also pointed out in the Olivet Discourse there are to be multiple Raptures.
Those that are prepared and ready will be taken in the first Rapture when Christ returns like a thief in the night. (1 Thessalonians 4:17; Revelation 3:10)
Then billions will know the truth and accept Jesus as the Messiah and they will realize this temporal existence is nothing compared to the eternal life ahead for all that ask Jesus Christ to be their Savior. These billions due to the first Rapture will endure persecution and hardships then ultimately death. Then right after the 144,000 receive their mark upon their foreheads the next Rapture occurs and these now martyred billions will stand before the throne of God. (Revelation 7:9-17)
Then all that will be left upon the earth are the 144,000, the rest of the Jewish people that are yet to be killed and billions who rejected God and Jesus and chose to accept the mark of the Anti-Christ. It is during this next three and a half years that the earth will itself suffer greatly to the point that debris will be hurtled into the upper atmosphere. This will cause the sun, the stars and the moon to diminish in light as is foretold by Jesus Christ Himself during the Olivet Discourse. Then just before He is to return to the very Mount He taught His discourse from just over two thousand years ago. He will gather the 144,000, the elect. Then the final battle will occur that will usher in the Thousand Year Reign of Jesus Christ.
So who are the elect? Those that are Messianic Jews and are given the mark of God.

Laws are not guidelines


Per the Cambridge dictionary a “law” is defined as:
“a rule made by a government that states how people may and may not behave in society and in business, and that often orders particular punishments if they do not obey, or a system of such rules: civil/criminal law; federal/state law”
A guideline is defined as:
“a piece of information that suggests how something should be done”
Let’s go a step further in this definition. A “suggestion” is:
“an idea, possible plan, or action that is mentioned for other people to consider.”
As you can see they are two completely different things. However in many in today’s society “laws” are treated as “guidelines,” “suggestions.”
A very visible example of this is the speed limits on roads.
These are states laws that state we must not exceed a certain miles per hour. However most everyone goes faster and if you are not like them, then you are the problem.
The Bible tells us this:
Titus 3:1 – Remind the believers to submit to the government and its officers. They should be obedient, always ready to do what is good.
Yet many who call themselves “Christian,” go with the flow of traffic. In other words they embrace and accept the sin and in turn are defying God Himself.
Why?
Because they see the teachings of Jesus Christ as guidelines instead of something that must be adhered to. They see the laws of humanity not being followed, so why bother to follow God. This is the mentality of the weak. Those that say they are “Christian,” but in reality they are not. They are hypocrites and most don’t even realize it.
The commandments within the Bible, which Jesus Christ stated he come to fulfill, are laws. We are to live our lives through faith and works, which as we are instructed in Titus is to obey the laws of the land, unless they go against the laws of God, which are greater. So stop treating laws like guidelines, for once you treat a law as a guideline you state you are willing and able to sin against God. For you are more important than God.

The thing those in Hollywood don’t know.


You hear nearly daily of this celebrity or that celebrity saying that they know what is best for the rest of humanity. Why? Because they are rich.
This is what the Bible says about those that have been given wealth in the world:
1 John 3:17 – If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
Now the first thing that will come from the minds of the read of this post is this:
“But they are showing compassion.”
Now let’s expand this topic to include the full teaching in this letter.
1 John 3:11 – This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. 12 We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous. 13 So don’t be surprised, dear brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. 14 If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead. 15 Anyone who hates another brother or sister is really a murderer at heart. And you know that murderers don’t have eternal life within them. 16 We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person? 18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. 19 Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. 20 Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. 22 And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him. 23 And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us. 24 Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.
So in the full teaching we see that it is both faith and works that shows we are children of God. So for a celebrity to tell us we must welcome the sick and the poor. However they live in wealth, luxury and leisure. They horde most their wealth and if they do share it they share very little.
Those that are given wealth are not to store up their wealth, especially if they profess to be “Christian.” We should live on enough to be debt free and not to live in excess and luxury. Once we reach this point, yet we are still given the wealth of this world that which exceeds our base needs should be given first to our fellow Christians in need so that they can then live debt free and in comfort. If we still have worldly wealth left that should be given beyond the body of Christ to help those truly in need. For that is what the Bible teaches us to do.
So those that are called celebrities are not something to revere, but to shun and ignore for they are of the world and we are not to befriend the world. For those that do befriend the world are the enemies of God.

The truth about homosexuality and Christianity (part 3)


In the first part of this series it was shown how God let those that rejected Him turn to sins that led to homosexuality.
In part two of this series it was shown that none that live a homosexual life will be allowed into heaven and so cannot call themselves “Christian.”
In this part I wish to give those willing to change a chance to see that they can come to God and be accepted and embraced by Him.
Read carefully what is to follow:
1 Corinthians 6:9 – Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. 11 Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
“Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
“Some of you were once like that.”
“were”
Meaning they are no longer this way. They no longer live in these sins. They have left them behind and have returned to the embrace of God.
It was not just calling upon God and Jesus, but it was the act of repentance.
To repent means to turn your back upon your sin. To no longer live in this sin. To return to the natural instead of living in the un-natural.
How can I speak of this? For I myself considered a homosexual life, but I saw the truth of the word of God. I have a wife and I have sons born of my seed. I am a living example of the truth and of God’s love for all who come to Him.
But understand as long as you live in sin. As long as you live in the world. As long as you do not say God is the Creator of all. Then understand that you will not be welcomed into the wonders of an eternal life in the service of God, but instead living the second death:
Revelation 21: 8 “But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.

The truth about homosexuality and Christianity (part 2)


There are those that go about and state that you can be a homosexual and be Christian as well. However this is the furthest thing from the truth. As was shown in part one of this series when those in the human race turned their backs upon God He allowed them to enter into sin. This in turn, turned to un-natural desires and lust which is homosexuality. So those partaking of this sexual sin still reject God at the core of their hearts.
Also per the Bible it is impossible to be living within this sin and be Christian.

Since it clearly states that they cannot inherit the Kingdom of God, then it is impossible for any that partake of this sin to be Christian.
So any that state you can be are lying and leading them down the wrong path. This also goes for pedophiles, for I actually question the translation of “male prostitutes.” The actual Greek wording implicates men having sex with boys. (“effeminate – malakos – a catamite:–effeminate, soft – catamite – a boy kept for homosexual practices.)
Now many may question the word “homosexuality,” as well, but let’s look at that so there can be no question.
In the KJV this verse reads as this:
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,”
abusers of themselves with mankind – arsenokoites – a male engaging in same-gender sexual activity; a sodomite, pederast.
As you can see it is there in the Bible. There can be no question, yet millions do. Why? Because they take the word of others and do not read the Bible themselves. For they would rather live their lives as they want to and think they are one with God, when that is the furthest thing from the truth.

The truth about homosexuality and Christianity (part 1)


This is not an attack or a hate piece. It is simply as the title of the series states….. The truth.
It will not be well received, but that is not my problem. For I write this out of true love for all, in the hopes that it will cause those that hear the truth to turn from sin and truly accept Jesus Christ.
This week Disney/ABC had an “event” about having pride in homosexuality. They made it seem that it is something to take pride in. In their advertising they even show a baptism. These are all lies, the true lies and the true hate, and it is something that should cause all that truly have love in their hearts to weep in sorrow for those that will be lost to an eternity of pain and agony.
I will take nothing from the Old Testament in this series. I will stay only in the New Testament. To the teaching of the Son of God and His apostles. Why? So that those reading will come to see the real truth of how this sin is seen by God.
We will start with Romans 1:
Romans 1:18 – But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. 21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. 28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. 29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. 30 They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. 31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. 32 They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.
“Worse yet, they encourage others to them, too.”
This is the acts of Disney/ABC. Encouraging others to turn to sin and that is seen as something that is against nature, and deserves to die for. Now I make this very clear, Paul is not referring to physical death, but spiritual death. Something that is far worse than to have our physical hearts stop beating, but to have our souls cut off from the glory and blessing of our Creator. You cannot live in this sin and have fellowship with God. You cannot be baptized and be called clean if you still indulge in sexual acts that go against how God created our bodies to be used, in the continuance of this species, through reproduction.

“You must keep your faith out of it.”


These words or those like them are stated to and by Christians on a daily basis.
This is all due to the Johnson amendment. Which was designed to silence the pulpits from talking about how this nation should be run in the eyes of God through the teachings of the Bible.
For centuries it is from the pulpits that the people of nations were informed of the happenings of their fellow citizens and news of import. With the Johnson amendment they were silenced. All due to greed. If you talk about the government and politics you lose your tax credit status and must pay. This law was an attack against Christianity as well as our first amendment rights as citizens of this this nation.
Now due to this law many Christians think they should not stick their noses into the politics. This is the furthest thing from the truth. Not only do the original laws that form this nation come from the Bible itself, but also that fact that no nation comes to be without the approval of God Himself. So Christians should be and need to be involved. Not only in politics, but all aspects of life. Not for us, but for God.
