Law

Sometimes we must be harsh

re-post
There are times that we must be harsh, if done with the good intentions of God behind the harshness.
This is why in 2 Timothy 4 we are instructed to reprove, rebuke and exhort.
This is reinforced by Proverbs 13:24 in which it says clearly we are to punish our child for if we do not we in reality hate them.
There are elements within the community that call themselves “Christian” that find being harsh to be wrong. These elements wish to placate and cater to the common mass. To make “Christianity” appealing like it is some social group that is alienating the masses.
Here is the thing. Those that truly understand “Christianity” are not trying to appeal or welcome more in just to get them in the door. That is the act of a social club. We are here to serve God, but by doing so we do it with love and kindness, but from true love there are times when being harsh is needed to make someone realize they are not doing things for God, but for themselves and the world. The two things that any true Christian will avoid doing. For when they welcome the self and the world they usually stumble and fall into sin. True Christians seek to bring people out of the world and out of sin and into the light of salvation that can only occur when people awaken to the fact that only through Christ is this possible.
We must remember that it clearly states that the wide and easy road leads to damnation, and the rough and narrow road leads to true eternal life. If it were easy ALL would make it into heaven, but that is not reality. Being a Christian is not easy, it is a daily struggle to not only address getting rid of major sins but addressing little things that people take for granted yet is still a sin. An example of this is speeding. Most speed, because everyone else is, but this is not what we are told in Titus 3:1 to do. We are to follow these “inconvenient” laws.
Now why did I place the word “inconvenient” in quotation marks? Here is why. It is only inconvenient to you if you think only of your own life. Speeding because you wish to sleep longer or stay up and watch this show or that show or that sports event. These are acts of selfishness, which is counter to the teaching of the Bible. We are to humble ourselves and work within the system, but if the system is counter to the Bible we must work within the system to return it to the Bible. For if the system makes it impossible to be a Christian then it is against God and needs to return to its origin.
Now here is where someone will say that no government is from God, but I will counter with this. All laws are based upon the laws of and the values from the Bible. In recent events these laws have been twisted away from the Starting point. Many here will state this is due to humanity changing and evolving and advancing. I will state then why are they returning to actions and behavior that is documented within the Bible from before the Ark of Noah and was the cause of God’s wrath that the floods came and destroyed that civilization. It was seen in Rome and was called decadent as it should be called now. We are not advancing we are declining in to depravity all of which were originally against the laws based upon the Bible.
These laws were placed to be harsh and to teach people that to sin leads to actions that could result in punishments. These sins are sins that if you were now in the Middle East would result in your death or dismemberments. Yet many in this country praise and cherish those that would kill them. Why? Because it is a way to discredit and dismantle the laws of this land based in the Christian faith.
What many refuse to accept is that Christianity is kinder than those practicing apocalyptic Islam. All we ask is that you give up living in your sin, but they do not give you the option. They just kill you.
Will it be hard to leave major sins? Yes. But when you truly ask Jesus to be our Savior then it will happen. We will leave the major sins in our lives behind. Will we completely eliminate them? Most of the time yes, but time to time will we stumble and fall, because we are merely human. But here is the kicker. When we do this sin we will feel regret and sorrow. It will bring us anguish and pain, but from it we will become stronger in our faith and belief in God and strive harder not to stumble again. Then we will see the lesser sins and change that in our life. Each time we will step closer and closer to God. Each time a more pure image of Jesus Christ. For that is the ultimate goal, even though it may hurt and may have been harsh.
2 Corinthians 7:8 I am not sorry that I sent that severe letter to you, though I was sorry at first, for I know it was painful to you for a little while. 9 Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to repent and change your ways. It was the kind of sorrow God wants his people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way. 10 For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.

P.S. btw that is 2nd Corinthians not Two Corinthians.

Laws are not guidelines

Per the Cambridge dictionary a “law” is defined as:
“a rule made by a government that states how people may and may not behave in society and in business, and that often orders particular punishments if they do not obey, or a system of such rules: civil/criminal law; federal/state law”
A guideline is defined as:
“a piece of information that suggests how something should be done”
Let’s go a step further in this definition. A “suggestion” is:
“an idea, possible plan, or action that is mentioned for other people to consider.”
As you can see they are two completely different things. However in many in today’s society “laws” are treated as “guidelines,” “suggestions.”
A very visible example of this is the speed limits on roads.
These are states laws that state we must not exceed a certain miles per hour. However most everyone goes faster and if you are not like them, then you are the problem.
The Bible tells us this:
Titus 3:1 – Remind the believers to submit to the government and its officers. They should be obedient, always ready to do what is good.
Yet many who call themselves “Christian,” go with the flow of traffic. In other words they embrace and accept the sin and in turn are defying God Himself.
Why?
Because they see the teachings of Jesus Christ as guidelines instead of something that must be adhered to. They see the laws of humanity not being followed, so why bother to follow God. This is the mentality of the weak. Those that say they are “Christian,” but in reality they are not. They are hypocrites and most don’t even realize it.
The commandments within the Bible, which Jesus Christ stated he come to fulfill, are laws. We are to live our lives through faith and works, which as we are instructed in Titus is to obey the laws of the land, unless they go against the laws of God, which are greater. So stop treating laws like guidelines, for once you treat a law as a guideline you state you are willing and able to sin against God. For you are more important than God.

“Rules don’t matter to me!”

These are the words most say and think. This is also the best indicator of an unsaved soul.
“WHAT?” someone just shouted.
Yes, this is a true statement.
“But I am saved!” another says.
You only think you are.
The Bible makes it very clear. A sign of a child of God is the willingness to obey the teachings of God. No government comes into power without the approval of God. Governments make laws and rules. Companies make rules. In Titus 3:1 we are instructed to follow the laws and the rules make by government and any in some form of power over the individual. Jesus even states when paying taxes, to give unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s.
Yet people every day do as they please. They speed, they break rules, because they are tiresome to them. These rules and laws cause them not to sleep in. not to stay up late. Take shortcuts in the tasks they are assigned to do. Not work even though they can. Take handicap parking away from those that are truly handicapped. All this is a sign of a selfish, self-serving mentality. All of this is the sign of a sinner.
Those that truly seek to be a reflection of Jesus Christ know the Bible as best they can. They know that the laws and the rules of mankind, which do not go against the Bible, come in some minor to major way from the Bible or the teachings of the Bible. Since we love God, through this love we willingly conform to these rules and laws.
For they are not inconvenient, but necessary to show we desire to honor God through His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Natural law

The other day I read an article from the “Federalists” You Have No Rights Without Natural Law. Within this article it lay down the ground work that “natural law” comes from God since God is the Creator of all.
A comment to this article was make in response:
“How can you say natural law has had multiple interpretations through different philosophers, but that an absolute morality exists? Which is it? And who’s ‘natural law’ is right, yours, mine, the priest’s?”
This was my response to this person:
“The article states that God is the creator of this planet, this very universe. Looking at that simple fact the question can be asked where does nature come from? Since God created this planet, the answer is self-explained. God created nature. So something that can be called “natural” or from nature comes from God. This leaves one conclusion, there is only one nature and one natural order. When people chose to say this is not true they are in fact denying nature and are denying the natural order. They are in conflict with the truth. A “priest” is a representative of a man-made religious group. Anything man-made is counter to nature for that is humanity seeking to have domain over nature and thus over God. True faith in God does not conform to a religion, but to true natural order. When you say “yours, mine, the priest’s” you are by your wording implying that your views within the word “mine” say you wish to rule God, if you even belief in God. Since there is a natural order this is a confirmation that there is a God who created everything including your soul which was given a body through the conception of your parents desiring to continue God’s natural order of reproduction. So to answer your question, people have a different understanding of natural law due to poor education which in many times promoted humanities desire to rule over nature and thus over God. The absolute morality does exist because that absolute IS God and you can learn these absolutes by truly reading and coming to fully understand the Bible.”
My foundation for my statement is as follows:
Romans 1:18 – But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.
24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.
28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. 29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. 30 They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. 31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. 32 They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.

Daniel’s journey into the den of lions

What caused him to be taken and given to the lions? It all boils down to humans trying to be more important than God. What Daniel did was say “no God is more important.”
In several recent laws humans are saying they are more important than God. This should have caused everyone that calls themselves “Christian” to respond as Daniel did. Most did not. They caved in and said let it be. This using what Daniel did as an example of what someone that calls themselves “Christian” should have done lays guilt at the door step of all that did not echo Daniel.
Ponder upon that and make the necessary changes required in your life to reassert God as the most important being in your life and in your world and culture.
(2 Timothy 4:1-5)

You cannot change a world through policies

It can only change if you change the way someone thinks.
But how is this done?
In the book of Mark it is made clear that the heart of humans is corrupt and that only evil can come from it.
Then how can you change the way someone thinks if only corruption can be found within them?
They must be willing to ask something better than themselves into their hearts, but what is it that can be better than a human?
Other people? No, for all humans are corrupt.
Laws made by humans? No, for it came from humans.
At this point many say then there is nothing left.
Sorry, wrong answer.
God is real, His teachings are real, His Son is real and He walked amongst us so that He could first hand understand just how corrupt we humans are.
He never sinned even though He felt their temptation. He died in our place. For every single person that wishes to accept Him as their Savior, and once they have done so we change. We are born again. Not into a new body, but within our very soul.
No longer is the self the top priority, but those about us are and only after God. For placing God first we understand that we must place all others before ourselves and when doing so the self becomes unimportant.
And so the world can start to change.
What is sad is that more and more refuse to listen to this. More and more embrace their own desires, their own lusts and so in some cases terrible thinks to place. Murders, theft, the killing of the innocent. All because most only think of and care only for themselves.
Selfishness is as the core of all the evils humans are capable of, and only Jesus Christ can change that and thus the world.
Turn from your sins, repent and turn away to live in sin no more and learn how to think in a new and glorious way that give honor unto the creator of everything — God.

What is the law that we are not held too in the Bible?

Here is another one of those things that people have either not been taught correctly or at all. In Romans there is a major section of this letter that deals with the “law” and how those that follow Christ are no longer in need to follow. Many think this means they do not need to follow the Bible at all, others think you do not need to follow the Old Testament, others feel you are free to do as you please as long as they say they are one with Christ.
All of these ideas are false.
What is going on in Romans is an explanation on the need to not give sacrifices at the temple any longer. No longer is the need to prepare food a certain way. No longer necessary is the requirement to follow this ritual or that ritual which have been set forth by the Pharisees. One of the main reasons for this is by the time that Christ walked the earth many un-needed things had been added by humans and not God. So in actuality the original law was not even being truly followed as Christ Himself point out but a type of man-made legalism.
Now what is important Jesus clearly said He came to fully the law and not replace it. So this means that sacrifices were not necessary due to Him going to the cross and being beaten, bleeding as well as dying for us upon it. This very act states that there was, is and will be sin that only His blood can wash away, but due to free-will those that ask Christ into their life’s must repent of their sin.
Now here is the key word: “repent” which means to turn away from. In other words stop doing. If you ask God into your life and you continue to live in sin and do nothing to end nor feel any need to stop sinning. Then per the Bible itself those that continue to be of the world, which sin is a part of, then they choose the world over God and are not even welcome in heaven.
Let’s allow that to sink in a moment.

In several passages within the Bible it is made clear that it is either, or, not both. It is either sin or God, it is either the world and those things of the world or God. It is either do as the Bible says and accept all that the Bible says, which includes what is and what is not a sin, or do whatever makes you happy.
It clearly states within the Bible that for those that choose God their life will not be an easy life. There will be pain suffering and sometimes as is now happening in the Middle East things much worse. Torture, beheading, crucifixions and other terrible things. This what you signed onto when you accepted Jesus.
If any promise you riches and happiness in this world they are of this world not God’s world and you should leave them to their happiness. For they have chosen their rewards here upon this earth in this life that will last nearly one hundred years. Those that truly follow Christ are promised their rewards in the eternal life, a life that will last billions of years, which sounds more interesting? My answer? The eternal life.

Another refresher about following the laws of the land

Time and again I have posted about following the laws of the land. Why? Because most do not.
“WHAT?” you shout back at me. I answer with this simple statement. How fast did you drive down the expressway or the average street today? You become speechless because you know it was not the posted speed limit for which ever road you were on, because you need to get someplace in a hurry. I have mentioned time and again Titus 3:1. Well today I am adding some more verses:
1 Peter 2: 13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; 14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. 15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: 16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. 17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
To me when something in the Bible is repeated more than once it is meant to be a tool for judgment upon the day of the White Throne Judgment. Why? Because it states in the Bible that there must be two witnesses against you. Since we are dealing with spiritual matters then we must work off of that which is meant to teach our spirit to love and honor God through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. What is that? The Bible. So this very book serves as your two witnesses and can be used against you when you find yourself not in the audience on that great and wondrous event, but as the one on trial with God as your judge.

Should Christianity change?

Many ask that question. What is to follow is my opinion on the matter.
My answer to this question. NO. It should not change. Christianity has had its difficulties ever since Jesus. Even in the early days, many of the things that are present in the church today were present in the church when Paul was teaching unto the Gentiles.
If you are willing to go with what is popular today than your heart is not where it should be. We are not to be a part of the world but separate from it as an example of what is good in the eyes of God. If you go about saying that it is okay to sin then you are turning your back on God. This goes for any sin. If the Bible states it is a sin it cannot change. It is still the same sin it was when it is called a sin when God on Mount Sinai gave Moses the laws. It was a sin when Jesus walked upon the earth. It was a sin when our ancestors came to America so they could worship God as the Bible taught, not as a King said it was to be done. It is a sin today.
I will help and befriend someone who chooses to live in sin, but I will still try to get him or her to realize that they are living in sin. It is not my place to force them to change. It is my place to be the light of God upon the world and expose those acts as sin.
If that person rejects God that is their choice as it should be, but I will still let them know that “if” there is a God then they are destine to an eternal life that is more hideous then what ISIS (ISIL) is doing to my fellow Christians in the Middle East. An ETERNAL LIVE of pain and suffering by their own choice.
As Christians, we are meant to be an example of what is true, right and clean. If your church allows those that sin within it. Then that church has turned it back on God and is no longer a church. A prime example is the Presbyterian Church, which first stated it would no longer acknowledge Israel, but then said it would accept homosexuality. That organization is no longer Christian and so if you call yourself Christian you must leave this group and find a place that is still Christian and follow the teaching of the Bible. We are told that Israel is the promised nation of God so to deny Israel is to deny God. We are told in the Bible that homosexuality is a sin. Therefore, if you allow sin into your buildings you allow Satan to have dominion and not God.
The basic principles of Christianity have lasted since 33 A.D. until now. That is one thousand nine hundred and eight plus years. Not counting the years from Mount Sinai. Nearly two thousand years that these rules, laws and teachings have endured yet now they are wrong? Sorry, but those that say they are wrong are the ones that are in the wrong.
People are dying more than ever for calling themselves Christian. Are you willing to have someone saw off your head as they did or are you a hypocrite? I already now the answer. I am willing to die a martyr for God. Are you?

Life— the free trail at eternity.

We are promised in the Bible that when the time comes we will be called up to be with the Lord forever. We will have the body that is corruptible to be replaced with an incorruptible and immortal body.
This life is nothing more than a trial period to see how we handle the use of our Life. Like any trial offers you look to see if the product is to your liking.
It is also to see if you will care for the product.
Like all products there are certain rules and stipulations that need to be followed. If you do not follow them than when you return the product damaged you will have to pay for the damage caused to it.
This is what we are told will take place. In Revelation chapter 20 the user’s manual of our life will be examined and if damage was done and occurred to our life then we have to pay for the damage done to it at that time.
For those that took good care of their life they shall be rewarded with a life that will last for billions of years.
Do the laws laid down in Genesis, Exodus and Deuteronomy apply as the “rules and stipulations”. I would say yes. Since Jesus stated he was not there to replace the law, but to fulfill it.
Throughout the centuries certain acts were open and exposed to the world. In the last one hundred or so years many of these behaviors have been covered and hidden away. Now these deeds are returning to being exposed once again. Many decry their return from behind locked doors and whispers. I do not. I feel that if you wish to choose the fate of your life. Do so in the light of day. Allow all to know what you choose.
We are also told not to judge, for by the very standard we judge others so shall we be judged. What we are told to do is to pray for those that choose the life of sin. Teach them what is right. Allow them the opportunity to repent if they so choose. Love them as a brother or sister, for that is what they are.
As long as we try to instruct them, our fellow humans, on how to use the user’s manual then some will decide to treat their life correctly. Then when the time comes they will be able to get their new life. A life that will last beyond all time. A life that will allow them to witness all the wonders of the universe. A universe created by God.
