Goal in this temporal life

re-post
What is it you are seeking? What are your goals?
Are they to seek out wealth? Are you trying to seek fame? Do you seek to have your name go down through history?
If any of these are your goals then I have bad news for you: They are of this world and anything of this world is really not worth pursuing.
You want to know a couple of my goals.
1) To find someone to share all that I encounter. All the good and the bad. All the wonders and horrors. All the happy times and sad. (goal met and accomplished)
2) To see all the wonders of the universe. (heading in the right direction for this [I think])
“How it is possible to see all the wonders of the universe?” you ask.
Simple. Turn to God and serve Him. Follow the teaching of the Bible and turn from that which is called evil within it.
“You didn’t answer my question!” you state.
Actually yes I did. For God has promised all that server Him an eternal life. Are we going to spend it on this speck of a planet when God created the entire universe? No we are not. We will server God throughout His entire creation. What will we do there only time will tell, and since a few billion years is a long time. I have a feeling I my just get a chance to see all the wonders of the universe. Leaving events in this temporal life behind.

100 years verses 1000000000000000000000000000 years, which is greater?

True Christians don’t measure success by worldly standards

But what are worldly standards? Fame, riches, fancy clothing. These things are fleeting and mean nothing to those that truly seek God. This is what proves the “prosperity ‘churches'” to be nothing but false prophets using God’s name in vain for their own riches, fame and glory. Those that teach this blasphemy are doing nothing but stealing for those in true need of God.
God made it clear that the rich have less of a chance of making into the heaven than a camel passing through the eye of a needle (Matthew 19:24). [BTW this is not has horrifying as it implies. The “eye of needle” gate in the Jerusalem wall was small and a camel had to almost literally crawl through the gate to get through it so some rich people might make it through, but it is not wise to count solely upon that.]
The greatest commandments are to love God above all else and to honor and worship Him first and foremost. Then we are to treat all others as we would treat ourselves. It was also made clear that we are to humble ourselves and to place all others before ourselves especially if you are in a leadership role (Mark 10:44). It is through this behavior that true Christians measure their success.
When you place God above all else this means you, yourself are unimportant only that which please God should be the most important thing to you. Now admittedly we all do not live up to this standard. I know I don’t, but I strive to do so. All humans falter and fall for we are not perfect. Does this mean to accept these flaws within us? No it does not. We are to strive every day to in some way remove these flaws from within us. Through pray and effort and acknowledging that we cannot do it by ourselves but through God’s Son the Lord Jesus Christ.
All humanity is corrupt and will fail, some more than others. Then there will be those that think that only through humanity can all glory ever be seen, but that is a lie. Not only to themselves but to others for it clearly states within the Bible that only evil comes from the hearts of humanity (Mark7:21-23). Any good that is accomplished can only be done through God and His blessing (James 1:17).
It is the ability to realize this that men have done truly great and lasting things and whenever humans do something without God it is lost and forgotten and only mysteries remain that confound and confuse those that are left behind. It is when humans think they are greater than God is when God reminds us that He is (1 Corinthians 1:25).
This is why it is imperative that people not seek after the world and its pleasures and riches but after that which is considered true riches in the sight of God. Seek Him out, pray, read the Bible and learn what it is that God seeks for you, but remember it will not be wealth or fame, but humility and sacrifice that wins the day.

A new year begins and there are still surprises

Today officially a new year begins for me. It already shows promise and at the same time already shows trails. Now I get to see if the mundane will be the same. The mundane is one of the greatest trials that effects most. It is this that I think causes a lot of trouble for all. They cannot accept it due to promises made by parents and others in authority.
A prime example is the “white knight” that ladies look for throughout their lives. There are many other examples: sports, fame and winning the lottery. All focus on one thing. Rewards here upon the earth. All also promise to remove the mundane.
Here is the kicker: They just create a different type of mundane. A “white knight” is not the answer. Being great at sports is not the answer. Fame is not the answer. Money is not the answer.
How can I get folks to understand that this life we now live is a mere blink in the eye to the life we are ALL promised we will live, but how we live in this blink will determine how good or bad the next billion years will be. Each little action we make in the next hour is as important as a lifetime of behavior towards those about us. An action that will affect us for an eternity. A core element is ones believe in God. It is better to believe there is a God then not. Why? Because time and again those that deny God fall into depravity while that that say there is a God avoid certain acts of behavior that helps make society thrive and grow.
Now accepting there is God and asking God into your life as different as believing or not believing in God in the first place. I would like you to accept God into your life. I see the importance. I know that seeking reward upon this earth is futile because I know there is wonders that will be beyond this temporal existence that are more than worth waiting for and that is a true reward.

AT THIS POINT I COULD NOT THINK OF MORE TO SAY AND PROCEEDED TO GO TO WORK. WHAT IS TO FOLLOW IS WHAT HAPPENED AFTER I GOT TO WORK.

And what is the first thing I am greeted with as I walk into to work.
“So and So passed away!”
This man sought after the here the now. The rewards of this earth. He cussed and told dirty jokes and thought himself loved by those about him. Yet people did not. They degraded and talk badly about him. Knew that if they wished short cuts to be done he was the “go to” person.
Now he is gone. From all outward signs he was not right with God. He did not have a personal relationship with God, nor did I think he even believed in God. I treated him as I try and treat all about me as my equal. I was nice, but I never got the opportunity to talk to him of God. Was this my failing, or God’s timing? He lived his live in sin of this I have no doubt. I have witnessed firsthand him showing hundred dollar bills held like a hand of cards up to a camera on a computer screen to show some woman on the other side of the world that cared nothing for him but cared only for the money on display before her.
Did he leave any true evidence of his existence? What is there that can truly last? Another person’s soul. I don’t mean children, I mean a soul. We have them you know. All of us. It is that part of us that will go on and live for forever. It is that part of us that will remove the corrupt and put on the uncorrupted. This is what is important in seeking out and asking God into your life. We are to bear the fruit of salvation for as many as will listen. So that once the time comes that we do receive the uncorrupted we will also be ready to receive the reward that is promised us. Not in this temporal life but in the eternal life that will be filled with rewards and wonders beyond compare.
Are you ready for the eternal life?
