Discussion

In the title of this podcast, I used the word “god” in quotation marks. Why? Because there are two “gods” being worshiped at this time. To understand the answer to that question we turn to the Bible:

2 Corinthians 4:1-6 – Therefore, since God in his mercy has given us this new way, we never give up. 2 We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this. 3 If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing. 4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God. 5 You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

“Satan, who is the god of this world.”

Here are verses that deal with those that look to the world:

1 John 2:15-17 – Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.

There are those out there that seek after the things this world offers, and they call themselves “Christian.” They pray to receive “rewards” here on earth, and they are “blessed” with these items.

Their true “god” is giving them what they seek and want. All the time the are walking away form the light of Jesus Christ and into the darkness of damnation. For their “god” is not the Creator of the universe, but he who fell to earth to corrupt those that do not wish to hear the truth.

Let us look at this from a different angle.

2 Peter 2:1-3 – But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. 3 In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.

These are those that teach the false gospel. The gospel that causes those that say they are “Christian,” but in reality, they truly are not. This is the “gospel” that offers “rewards” here on earth and condones sinful behavior. All because they are “loved by God.”

Let us take a closer look at these verses, starting with the KJV of them:

2 Peter 2:1 – But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

First let us look at this part of the first verse of this chapter:

“Even denying the Lord that bought them.”

Lord – G1203 – despotés – (husband); an absolute ruler, Lord, master.

To those that know the Bible. There is only one “absolute ruler.” That being God and those that call themselves truly “Christian,” know God through our Savior the Son of God: Jesus Christ. So, the absolute ruler is Christ.

Therefore, these false teachers, at one point were followers of Jesus Christ and so could truly call themselves true “Christians.” Yet they now deny Christ. They have turned their backs upon Him. What is it they turned towards?

2 Peter 2:3 – And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

“And through covetousness.”

Covetousness – G4124 – pleonexia – avarice, that is, (by implication) fraudulency, extortion.

Shalt they with feigned – G4112 – plastos – moulded, that is (by implication) artificial, or figuratively (fictious) false.

  1. Moulded – to make a soft substance have a particular shape.

Meaning to mold the True Gospel into something that is pleasing to those listening. Like saying that there is only love in the Bible. Never showing you the wrath of God’s anger towards those that chose to embrace the world, as is noted in the first verse for these false teachers:

“And bring upon themselves swift destruction.”

What many do not realize, is the moment they prosper here on earth. They are at that very moment building up this “swift destruction,” which is witnessed by them receiving worldly “rewards.”

For they are being “rewarded” by their true “god,” who is the master of the domain where they receive their “rewards.” If it is here on earth that they are receiving these “rewards,” then their lord is Satan. If they are storing their treasures in heaven, then their Lord is God through our Savior Jesus Christ.

Matthew 6:19-24 – “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. 21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. 22 “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. 23 But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is! 24 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.

This wording is stating that money is Satan, and as such any who truly call themselves “Christian” will despise money for who it truly represents.

Now let us look at the second verse of 2 Peter 2 in the KJV:

2 Peter 2:2 – And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

Many – G4183 – polus – many, mostly, largely.

  1. Mostly – in large degree or amount

Matthew 7:13-14 – “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. 14 But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.

Verse thirteen shows the free-will of humanity, and why it is made clear that people willingly go to the fires of damnation.

Matthew 7:13 – Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

“And many there be which go in thereat.”

Thereat – G1223 and G846 –

G1223 – dia – through, on account of, because of

G846 – autos – self, he she it, own

“Many will go through it spiritually on their own;” is the implication when studying the phrase with both Strong’s Concordance and TDNT.

Once again, the word “many” appears. Why is this so important to zero in on?

Because most that call themselves “Christian” believe they are taking the narrow path and entering that small gate, which leads them into heaven. However, this is not the case at all if they have been paying attention to this study.

Where is it you are receiving your “rewards?”

Are you struggling here on this earth? Do you find it difficult to make any headway here in this temporal realm of existence?

If your answer is yes, then you most likely fall into the group that is entering the narrow gate.

If your answer is no, and you have money to spare. Have luxuries like a large house, fancy cars. Expensive furniture. You enjoy playing golf. In addition, you look down upon other and think yourself special and beyond harm. Then you are on the wide path, which does not lead to heaven, but to hell.

For your “god” is not the Creator of the universe. But he who was placed in control of this temporal plain of existence. Placed here to test all of humanity and to see who would turn towards the true God through His Son our Savior Jesus Christ.

Or to look to themselves. To seek to please themselves. To give pleasure and satisfaction to themselves.

I will end this study with the 1 John chapter 2 once again. Where the verses before these made it clear that John was talking to both the new and old born-again Christian. Filled with the Holy Spirit and professed to be children of God though Jesus Christ:

1 John 2:15-17 – Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.

So, who is your “god?”

The Lord God our Creator?

Or the one He cast down from heaven to be the god of this world we now live within?

God Bless.

Discussion

Today’s message will not even be acknowledged by many who listen or read this.

Why?

Mainly because they think they are right with God. But this is the furthest thing from the truth. They are in actuality the lukewarm. (Revelation 3:15-16)

In Hebrews chapter six the writer of this letter says this about the basics of the teachings of laws and rules of the ability to follow God:

Hebrews 6:1-3 – So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. 2 You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.

However, the person then goes to say this:

Hebrews 6:4-6 – For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come— 6 and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame.

Let that statement sink in.

For it verifies that someone can loss their salvation.  When taken in conjunction with the previous verses… as it should be anyway. We gain insight as to why they have lost their salvation and have become unable to see it or return to God.

Per their perception they are still within their salvation. Yet they live of, and within the world. Thus, becoming the lukewarm, and then being spued out of the Body of Christ. (Revelation 3:15-16)

Now I know many will challenge what I have just stated. I understand that. That is the issue with what caused the verses in Hebrews to be written on the first place. Many have truly experienced salvation. Many believe they are all set for eternity.  Yet, as Hebrews, John 15 and verses in Matthew show this is not how it truly is.

Now I am going to read from 2 peter the second chapter.  There are two references here.

The first:

2 Peter 2:1-3 – But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. 3 In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.

The key statement in these verses:

“And even deny the Master who bought them.”

In the KJV is says:

“Even denying the Lord that bought them.”

Once again verifying that salvation can be lost.

Now to look at the second set of verses in this chapter:

2 Peter 2:20-22 – And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before.

21 It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life. 22 They prove the truth of this proverb: “A dog returns to its vomit.” And another says, “A washed pig returns to the mud.”

Now again someone will protest with statements like: “Well they were never saved in the first place.”

Those who say these words have just committed a grievous sin.

Romans 10:9-13 – If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. 13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”

As Paul continues after these verses that shows if someone asks, they are saved. He talks about how Israel rejected the truth. As a result, the nation of Israel was removed from the world. Yet, once again Israel exists. Why? Due to God’s promises to Abraham. But that is a different discussion. What is important to this topic is that there are those out there that belief Israel is no longer under that promise and have been cut off. That is the furthest thing from the truth. They just have a longer and harder road to travel than Christendom must follow. Those that say Israel has no part to play in God’s plan are teaching a false gospel.

But back on topic.

Any who asks Jesus to be their Savior is saved. Yet, they are like newborn babes. Vulnerable to listening to false and misleading teachings. Teachings that make them think that they can live their lives as they always have and still be welcomed into heaven.

True Christians cannot be a part of the world. I know this full well for I have lived the road downward. But only through God’s love for me was I finally able to awaken to the truth. God had to slap me down to make me awaken. I had lost most of my possessions and even lived in a hotel room with my ten-year-old son.

But I finally listened to God.

As a result, I started my blog which has led me to making podcasts. Ever growing in my calling as a teacher of the Word of God.

The Word must be taught completely and accurately. People must come to know that they must change how they live. No longer seeking after money. For money is the world. Jesus makes it clear you cannot serve two masters. It must be God or money.

Matthew 6:19-24 “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal.

The moment someone keeps after money yet professes to being “Christian” they have become the lukewarm. Who as a result, are seen as worse than those that deny God.

Get that imagery into your head.

Someone who openly says they hate God. Say for example someone that worships the Devil and kills animals on an altar are seen as greater than those that say they are “Christian” and live in luxury. Because luxuries are for glory in and of the world. Not from God. (1 John 2:15-17)

It is made clear by Jesus Christ. We should only seek after treasure in heaven. Any wealth that is given us beyond the basics needs is ALL God’s. And is to be used for His glory not our legacy or our comforts and leisure.

2 Corinthians 9:6-15 – Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 9 As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.” 10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. 11 Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God. 12 So two good things will result from this ministry of giving—the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God. 13 As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ. 14 And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you. 15 Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words!

In past studies it has been established that God prefers us not to seek after the things of the world. However, in verse eight the implication is just the opposite. More verses say to seek after God’s realm than humanities. That is even seen here when taking all these verses together in a fashion. As fortified by 1 John 3:17

“If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?”

True enrichment is not worldly wealth but blessings from God. Not stored here on earth but in heaven. (Matthew 6:19-24) It is made clear that worldly wealth known as money is another god. That is why it is important to shed the excess to those that are in need. As is made clear in 2 Corinthians seeking after what is righteous is more important than holding on to that of the world. This is accomplished by doing as these verses state to give freely of the excess given unto us by God for His glory. For that is the true and only purpose of anyone given more than they need.

I will end with these verses for you the listener and reader to ponder:

James 5:1-3 – Look here, you rich people: Weep and groan with anguish because of all the terrible troubles ahead of you. 2 Your wealth is rotting away, and your fine clothes are moth-eaten rags. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. The very wealth you were counting on will eat away your flesh like fire. This corroded treasure you have hoarded will testify against you on the day of judgment.

Discussion

God is disappointed in many of those that call themselves His “Church.”

Why do I say this?

All I see is people that call themselves “Christian” who live in luxury and seek after the pleasures of the world. What does the Bible say about those that live this way?

1 John 2:15-16 – Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.

Then I ask this. Can they in actuality call themselves “Christian?” Again, per the Bible.

James 4:1-12 – What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? 2 You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. 3 And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. 4 You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. 5 Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that the spirit he has placed within us should be faithful to him. 6 And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. 9 Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor. 11 Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you. 12 God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?

So do not think I am judging. This is not me making these assurances.

1 Timothy 5:20 – Those who sin should be reprimanded in front of the whole church; this will serve as a strong warning to others.

The warnings had stopped. So many live in sin. And have come to believe their sins are not sins.

Why? Because they listened to others who said it was okay to seek after darkness. Instead of staying in the light.

Ephesians 5:5-13 – You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. 6 Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. 7 Don’t participate in the things these people do. 8 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! 9 For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. 10 Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. 11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. 12 It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. 13 But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them,

I am not acting as judge. I am a servant unto my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Son of our Creator, the Lord God Almighty. Following the directive of our Lord. Shining light upon what is in the darkness. I cannot help it if it makes some listening uncomfortable. They are this way because the light is glowing upon the truth. If the truth hurts them, it is the truth of God that is causing them discomfort. For the true Gospel does not seek to please humanity but God.

Galatians 1:6-10 – I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News 7 but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ. 8 Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you. 9 I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed. 10 Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

When someone tries to make someone pleased and rejects that which causes discomfort, they have made themselves cursed by the Word of God the true Good News. For the true Gospel causes those living in sin to feel uncomfortable and to seek to hide in the darkness. Or they will reject that which is evil and then turn to the light and the true path to salvation that comes from only one source: Jesus Christ the Son of God, who is the lion and the lamb. Who said this to those who choose comfort and luxury:

Revelation 3:15-22 – “I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! 16 But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! 17 You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. 18 So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. 19 I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference. 20 “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. 21 Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne. 22 “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.”

So let us look at the verses that deal with what those that are lukewarm are to actually seek after. So let us look at these verses in the KJV:

Revelation 3:18-19 – I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

“Gold tried in fire.” Is us purified of our sins to become clean and worthy of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“White raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear.” The white clothes we receive when we accept Christ as our Savior.

“Anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.” Obtain the eye salve, which is the Holy Spirit, who allows us to see the truth.

Then Jesus makes it clear that those He loves He will correct and discipline, which is the true Gospel. Not the false gospel that pleases and makes those listening feel good, but instead makes them feel uncomfortable in the luxuries and riches they have clad themselves in because it is appealing to their earthly eyes and worldly desires. A sample of this I witnessed the other day. Was a Mercedes Benz with Christian stickers on the back of it. The ultimate example of a lukewarm person.

Let’s return once again to the Bible:

1 Timothy 6:3-10 – Some people may contradict our teaching, but these are the wholesome teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. These teachings promote a godly life. 4 Anyone who teaches something different is arrogant and lacks understanding. Such a person has an unhealthy desire to quibble over the meaning of words. This stirs up arguments ending in jealousy, division, slander, and evil suspicions. 5 These people always cause trouble. Their minds are corrupt, and they have turned their backs on the truth. To them, a show of godliness is just a way to become wealthy. 6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. 7 After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. 8 So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. 9 But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

However, most will not listen to these words. Most will have already turned off this message or stopped reading it. Because they have no desire to accept the truth.

So, we must now move on to what Jesus said about the smallest gate into the city of Jerusalem.

Matthew 19:23-24 – Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, it is very hard for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. 24 I’ll say it again—it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!”

But to correct this. What must be done? I will end this podcast with these verses:

2 Corinthians 9:6-15 – Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need, and plenty left over to share with others.

It just amazes me how God makes things go full circle. Not only that. How He points you in a certain direction to do a certain thing. That is the case with today’s study of the Bible. God wishes for this message to be sent out and I hope you listen or read it.

Now I know what is to follow was originally for those practices done by the Jewish people and to some extend it is performed today. But, I want you reading or listening to look past that to the environment we now live within globally, which has resulted in lockdowns and demands to change our behavior. Like to constantly and repeatedly wash our hands. The verses come from Colossians. They begin in the 2nd chapter:

Colossians 2:20-3:6 – You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as, 21 “Don’t handle! Don’t taste! Don’t touch!”? 22 Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them. 23 These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires. 3:1 Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. 5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. 6 Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming.

What these verses boil down to is not worrying about things that transpire in the world and to have the self-control to end sin in our lives. Our eyes should be upon our life away from this temporal existence. Being concerned about having rituals imposed upon us by those that fear their eternal life, shows a lack of faith in He who died for our sins upon that cross nearly two thousand years ago. Who promised us eternal happiness. When humanity tries to impose things upon us for our safety. We are ignoring the only thing that truly counts: Our life in the eternity that is to come once we leave this temporal plain of existence.

Only those that don’t know where they stand upon the enteral plain, fear what they will find there. Those that distress over death and what lies beyond it. Live in the here and the now. While those that truly follow the teachings of Jesus Christ seek after that eternal reward. So, there is no need for fear.

Philippians 4:4-7 – Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! 5 Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. 6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Now if you look back to the verses of Colossians, we are told not to be greedy. So, in the Philippians verses, when it states to “tell God what you need.” It is not referring to earthly goods or wealth, but for health and wellbeing and those things that will lead us to the eternal life that is yet to come. Like comfort and reassurance. Knowing that we are destine for something well beyond events and happenings that take place here on earth. To be afraid of things that transpire here on earth shows a lack of belief in God and His Son Jesus Christ if someone professes to be “Christian.” Yet I hear of this fear on a daily occurrence. Mainly from those that live in the temporal. From these I expect it. But from those that profess to be of Christ I hear it as well.

2 Timothy 1:7-10 – For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 8 So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News. 9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. 10 And now he has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News.

Those that say they are of Christ should have no fear of anything that occurs here in this life. No matter its form. Especially if it could lead to death. For death is the open door to eternity. The only exception to this is the return of Jesus Christ when those that are His and are alive will be called up into the sky to meet Him. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

When people fear death. They fear what is not known. Yet, as is witnessed in the verses that are in today’s study. Those that know God in turn know what is beyond death. Since they have taken the path which leads to the open door that leads to eternity who is Jesus Christ. This means that they should not fear death. However, many still do, why is this?

This can be seen in the verses of the armor of God.

Ephesians 6:10-18 – Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

One of the key elements that deals with the study we are doing today is verse fifteen so let us look at it again:

“And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.”

In my research of this verse, I had to dig deep. For I wished to give the best answer to this verse. The meaning of the verse seemed hollow in that represented from Strong’s Concordance. So I read the several pages that was offered for the word “peace” in the TDNT (Theological Dictionary of the New Testament). The core of it boiled down to this paragraph:

“As regards the material use of the term in the NT three conceptions call for notice: a. peace as a feeling of peace and rest; b. peace as a state of reconciliation with God; and c. peace as the salvation of the whole man in an ultimate eschatological sense. All three possibilities are present, but the last is the basis. This confirms the link with OT and Rabbinic usage.”

In other words, “peace” first comes when asking for salvation that comes only through accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior. This leads to reconciliation with God which in turn gives each person a sense of eternal peace. Thus, confirming that to have fear of what is beyond this corrupt temporal life is to not be reconciled with God through His Son. This complex imagery of the word “peace” is what is meant in this verse.

The only way to achieve this peace is by being prepared with the knowledge that comes from an understanding of the teachings of Jesus Christ and His chosen disciples. These teachings later were turned into the New Testament. The only way to know what is in them is to fully study these letters and come to know their true meaning. This is accomplished by deep study into the Greek it was originally written in. It is also important not to take the word of others. For this leaves the door open to false teachings. Not even to listen to me. Verify the contents of the Bible for yourself, for all of humanity, even those who are saved are yet still open to corruption. For we will not know perfection until we meet Jesus Christ upon His return.

We are told time and again to have self-control. Is not part of self-control knowing what information we allow into our lives? Without proofing what we are being told is true how can we determine truth? Substantiation only comes from one source. The Bible itself, and this can only be achieved with full knowledge of what is written within it. It is this lack of knowledge that opens the door to false teachers.

This is witnessed by the early centuries of the church. This is witness when a man said that the Bible says men are to go to war over the city of Jerusalem. There is nothing in the Bible that states this. Thus, the popes that said this were false teachers.

This is witnessed when objects called “relics” were worshipped as items from Jesus Christ. Violating the command to not worship carved images. This is shown when all people have to do was pay money to obtain a piece of paper called an “indulgence,” that stated their sins were forgiven. Totally removing the need to ask for salvation from Jesus Christ. Who, the Bible states, is the only way into heaven. Again, a false teaching.

There are modern examples that are present in many religious groups that say things not found within the Bible. Yet people fully accept them as truth and fact. When again it is not found within the Bible. Thus, again a false teaching. But it is not my job to tell you which denominations partake of these false doctrines. They are for you the reader and listener of this podcast. By studying, truly studying, the Gospel is the only way to know without a doubt the truth found within the Bible. By you yourself. For who is responsible for their own salvation? You or someone else?

2 Corinthians 5:8-10 – Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him. 10 For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.

Even here we return to the very point of this study. That we should seek after our life beyond this temporal existence. Never in fear of its coming but welcome its coming and embrace it when it comes. Not in fright but in anticipation. An expectation of a child seeing the approach of a beloved Father. Who has loved and comforted us in times of sorrow and strife, as well as joined in with our happiness and joyous celebrations of our success in following the teaches of His Son our Lord Jesus Christ.

It is only when we reject God and His Son by denying what is found within the Bible. By living in sin and saying it is more important than our Creator. It is then that all must fear death. For it is right to have this dread. For it is made clear that to live in that which is said will not be welcomed in heaven. Since it is not welcome with God it can only be welcomed in one other location. So that is something to fear. That is something you can feel concern about and so desire never to die.

As we all know that is something that none of us can run away from. So how will you the listener and the reader of this study accept what is to come. Will we accept the end of our time in this temporal realm in fear or in comfort and joy?

Philippians 3:17-21 – Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example. 18 For I have told you often before, and I say it again with tears in my eyes, that there are many whose conduct shows they are really enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth. 20 But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. 21 He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.

God Bless

Confessions of a screwed up middle aged man: And the “love” fest continues

re-post
Once again someone comes to me stating: “but we must love one another.”
Their version of “love one another” being the continuation of the hippie love fest of the late 1960s and early 1970, from a culture that believed in orgies and drugs and that “love will conquer all.” This “love” everyone beliefs coming from open sin and the rejection of morals and common decency. Otherwise known as coming from Satan himself the author of all lies.
When the Pharisees accused Jesus of healing in the name of Satan he stated clearly that evil cannot cast out evil. So how something which has its origins in sin, and thus evil, be something that can honor God? Would that not mean that Satan was honoring God? Since the answer is he would not, then this belief to “love all and love freely” is of the world. And any that love the world are the enemies of God (James 4:4).
I also like how they use the Bible out of context. For example in a recent encounter they offered up 1 John 4:7-12. Now I will concede it does talk of loving one another, but here is where the issue comes into place. The entire New Testament was the Gospels and letters written to people that had already asked Jesus Christ to be their Savior, in other words, they were written for devoted Christians. The pretext of these verses was to love our brothers and sisters who were in Christ, our fellow Christians.
Now are we not to love our enemies? Yes we are, but when you love them you must be willing to be honest with them. Since they are of the world, out of love, we must state that if they stay in the world by living in sin they are destine to a fate that I would not wish on anyone. (Proverbs 13:24 – Those who spare the rod of discipline hate their children. Those who love their children care enough to discipline them.)
Too many times people throw the “love card” as an escape to avoid confrontation. Did not Jesus turn over the money changing tables in the Temple? Was this not “confrontation?” Did Jesus hate these people or the Pharisees, who were reaping in the profits from these money changers? No, Jesus loved them, as He loves all humanity. However, God does punish those that rebel against Him and especially those that openly sin directly before Him. If you allow someone to think they are saved yet they continue to live in sin, they are in actuality of the devil (1 John 3:6-10).
It is our duty has Christians, in love, to help those of the world turn to God through our Lord Jesus Christ and to repent, to turn from their sins and to leave them behind, which can only happen when they fully accept Christ as their Savior and place God first in ALL that they do every day.
Another verse they gave out of context. Song of Solomon 8:6-7, yet Song of Solomon 8 is about how young women are to live in virtue and honor and maintain their morals. The verse in question is more about the lusts caused by love and to avoid letting love lead you into sin.
They also mentioned of Jesus crying for Jerusalem. Here is the actual verse:
Luke 19:41 But as he came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep. 42 “How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes. 43 Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side. 44 They will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not recognize it when God visited you.”
He was weeping for Jerusalem, the heart of Israel, for the chosen children of God had rejected their King, that being Jesus Christ. Here he predicts the fate of the city just under forty years for that day He entered into Jerusalem that Palm Sunday.
Again showing His full love, but out of that love His sorrow. For not only was it due to their rejection of Him, which would result in the people of Israel being cast out of their nation and spread throughout the entire globe for nearly two thousand year. He was also crying for what was to follow for all of humanity and the many that could have been saved by His very presence on earth as it King.
Now though millions, if not billions, may never know Him as their Savior due to those that would be false teachers unto those that honestly seek after Him to be their Savior, but instead meet man-made doctrines and lies like those that teach to love all no matter how they live, which is the same fate the Pharisees had doomed thousands to damnation before Christ walked amongst us two thousand years ago.
Matthew 23:13 “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either.”
So we must all remember that true and complete love requires us to be honest and true. If that honesty requires us to say to someone they are living in sin and need to fix this issue with Christ, then that is what we MUST do. For we are to reprove, rebuke and exhort.
2 Timothy 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Those who love the world are not one with God

re-post
So I was going through Facebook yesterday and one of the groups I am a member of showed a young man proposing to his boyfriend. It was done at the front of a “church” and all the people gathered there cheered.
My heart sank.
They have embraced the world and don’t even realize that they have. What does the Bible have to say about this:
1 John 2:15 – Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
James 4:4 – Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Anything of the world is against God. Homosexuality is a sin and so is of the world. So it is against God. Every person within the building that was once known as a “church” made it clear that they love the world and so hate God.
Romans 1:26 – For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Now you see my sorrow. This has become the common place, the ordinary, which adds to my pain. Yes my pain. For it hurts to see people thinking they are worshiping God and thinking they are one with God when they are not. They are living in a lie, a fabrication of reality. And who is the father of lies? It isn’t God. So if they are not worshiping God and they are worshiping within a lie then they are in reality worshiping Satan.
What is Satan’s fate? To be thrown into the pit of fire along with any that follow him.
How long will they be there? For all eternity.
Revelation 20: 10 – And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Isaiah 66:24 – And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

2 Timothy 4:1-5

Confessions of a screwed up middle aged man: I find it astonishing

“What is it you find astonishing?” asks you the read.
How those that feel they are up holding Christianity, in their eyes, gleefully supporting a person like Donald Trump.
As has been fully established Mr. Trump is a mere human being with flaws and sins of his own to account for.
But those that call themselves “Christian” and oppose Mr. Trump are not doing so out of hate, nor are the majority of them attacking or judging those that do support this mere mortal.
Here is how I see it from my own personal viewpoint.
I have shown within the Bible that from all that has been shown and seen that Mr. Trump is of the world. I have seen no change in this whatsoever. In fact it has been proven more and more that this is the case. The Bible makes it clear that we are to avoid people like this, especially if we are seeking to have them lead us.
The Bible also shows what we are to look for in a leader that does follow the Bible. This again is fully shown not to be how Mr. Trump acts. If you seek further details look through my past articles to get a more detailed look into these points. I will not bother to restate them now for it will distract from where I am trying to get to with this article.
I will say this. Yes there is a divide that has been made very clear within this election. I strongly and wholeheartedly feel it is due to the coming judgment that is approaching this nation and possibly the world itself.
God has sought in the past to see where those that say they followed Him stood. The uniqueness of this nation’s ability to vote for our leaders is also a tool made by God Himself to judge where the heart of this nation’s people stands. The vote shows where people’s hearts and minds are. Where their understanding of God and the Bible stands. (Those that question that God established how this nation picks its leaders has already shown they know nothing of God so I will not bother to explain my belief in that any further for again that is a distraction.)
When the people of Israel were to make account of themselves it was through prayer, supplication and adherence to the Torah. Time and again they failed at this, turning to live in and of the world and each time God punished them till finally in A.D. 7 0 the destruction of the second Temple and the scattering of the nation throughout the world took place. Ever since Reagan left office each Presidential election that has followed we have progressively gotten a choice of ever worse candidates till we have reached the present selection. The worst of them all to have ever run for this office.
In the last election God made it very clear we had an out, but 54,000,000 people that professed to be “Christian” stayed home mainly due to the fact that a Mormon was the candidate. This nation is now suffering the price for this decision to stay home. Everything that has happened in the last four years is on all the heads of those that stayed home, just because the Republican candidate was not “Christian” in their point of view. Yet they have not repented. They have not turned to God and asked for His forgiveness.
Many here will now protest what I have just stated, especially those that are the ones that call themselves “Christian” and have rallied behind Trump.
Here is the thing.
The mere fact that they have rallied behind this man of the world shows they have no true understanding of the Bible or of salvation itself. Their eagerness to run to this man has shown to not only the world, but to God. That they are blind to the truth. That they are hypocrites and they wonder why the Millennials are turning to Socialism and rejecting God.
What the real problem is, is that neither those that call themselves “Christian” nor the Millennials, for the most part have been shown the real image of “Christianity.”
True Christianity does not seek after wealth or rewards upon this earth. True Christianity does not horde the wealth they have for themselves but willingly share it with those in need, not through taxation or allowing the government to do it, but they do it themselves and willingly. This is the very thing that Millennials are seeking to do by running to Socialism, but they have been lied to on what will come from Socialism. Most are not aware that more humans were killed under Mao and Stalin (over 100,000,000) then have died under any of the forty three President of the United States put together. I am not counting wars. I am counting killed just for not agreeing with those in power.
This is the road that the Millennials are heading us down all due to those that think they are “Christian” when in reality they are not.
What needs to change is that all need to come to a true discernment of who God really is. They need to come to a true understanding of who Jesus Christ died for. They need to came to the point of comprehension that true Christianity is not becoming rich and powerful but living modestly and humbly, placing those in need before themselves, which Socialism may promise by its designed to do, but never has nor ever will achieve, because one main element is missing from Socialism………. GOD.
Whenever humanity seeks to control humanity by stating it can only be achieved by humanity, tyranny, famine and death result all due to what comes from within a human being:
Mark 7:20 – And then he added, “It is what comes from inside that defiles you. 21 For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. 23 All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.”

Where are the lights?

In the Sermon the Mount Jesus says that those that know Him are a light unto the world. A light that is to be shown and witnessed by your good works unto to God. This followed directly after the Beatitudes, so before you ask what are good works? I ask what the Beatitudes are. Because they are the general image of good works. But still I see no lights.
Many say they are Christian. Many say they follow Jesus, but still I see no light.
We are to love and follow God with all our heart, mind and soul, yet I still see no light.
We are to treat others as we are to treat ourselves. Yet I still see no light.
Why do people hide their light if it is lit?
Do people know you are a Christian? Do you profess Him to those you know or meet?
Is God your top priority or is it things of the world? Your job, the new house, car, or clothes.
Well?
Is this what the Bible teaches? No.
Material objects are of this world, but we are not of this world. Yet many seek after this world and call themselves a light, yet I still see no light.

You are only a child of God if:

During the protest in Kentucky over the county clerk refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples A song was sung by the Christian side that states “We are a child of God” the reply form those on the gay side was “So are we.”
Well um…. ah… no you real are not.
You are children of the world. You have embraced sin and wish to live in sin. You say that we can live in sin and be loved by God.
Revelation 3: 15-16 – I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
You are lukewarm wishing to live in sin and be one with God. It clearly states that the Glorified Jesus Christ says he will spit you from His Body. Very clear what that means. No way around it.
Again it is made very clear if you are of the world you are against God. What is in the world? Sin. All Sin, which includes homosexuality.
Romans 1: 24 – 27 – Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Do I want you to go to the pit of fire? No I do not. Do I want you to repent of your sin? Yes I do.
Why because God DOES love you, but as long as you embrace sin you are telling God you hate Him.
You must end your life of sin. You must not marry someone of the same sex. You must not have sex with someone of the same sex. You must leave this lifestyle. It is not out of hate, but out of love that I beg you to turn away from your sin.
God is real. Jesus is real. Eternal life is real, even though we are not at that point yet. Those that embrace the world have only one destiny unless they repent and stop their sin. It is not going to be a nice end. There will be pain. There will be fire. There will be worms eating your flesh.
Isaiah 66:24 – And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

To be friends of the world is to be an enemy of God

Now we are told within the Bible to reprove, rebuke and exhort with use of and for the Bible (2 Timothy 4:1-5). Now I say this because there are those that call themselves “Christian” and have befriended the world. A prime example is one of the Republican Party candidates that used the adage of “love the sinner hate the sin,” but also said he attended his homosexual friend’s wedding. This person has befriended the world and so has turned his back upon God.
If he truly placed God first he would have told that friend in love that pursuing this relationship to the point of marriage is a sin to God and he should seriously rethink that relationship. This is not what was done though. He has embraced the world and his friend and in so doing he has turned his back upon God.
James 4: 4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
