death

If all you do is edify then you are missing the truth

Many gather in a building just to get their egos stroked. They wish to hear that God loves and that God needs them. Then they leave and go about living their lives as they see fit.
This is not what the Bible teaches. This is edification. Not worship. Not enlightenment in what it is we are to do for God. Yes what it is WE are to do for God. Not what is God going to do for us.
If the message being taught doesn’t remind you that you are the servant. That you are the one that needs to follow the teaching of the Bible. Then it is not teaching God or the Bible and thus is a sin.
A true message of God should make you uncomfortable. It is to remind you that you are merely a part of the creation. That if you live in sin you will not make it into heaven. It will tell you that even though you may have asked God into your heart and you strive to serve Him. Yet now you do none of those things the Bible makes clear that you must do, then you are not heading toward God, but away from Him.
Just being edified is faith alone.
James 2:17 – Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Works is living the teachings of the Bible. Works is calling a sin and sin and striving to turn from sin. Works is knowing the Bible and living a life that follows the teachings within it.
So if all you get from someone standing before you is edification and not making you think how you can better serve God. Then it is faith alone.
James 2:26 – For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Many knew this would happen

No one needed to have power or insight to know that what happened in Orlando Florida this last weekend would transpire.
What is important to know though is that it is not the fault of Christianity. There will be those that deny there is a God or feel that humanity is in control of their own destiny that it is the fault of any and all religions, beliefs or faiths. This is the furthest thing from truth.
It is the fault of Islamic radical behavior, but it is also the fault of those that think they can control humanity. That think they know all the answers, that in a way they are “gods” themselves. This is the fault of the elitist within Washington D.C., collage facilities, and media. Will they admit it? No.
The difference between Islamic teachings and the teachings of the Bible is very clear. Those that follow the Bible seek after peace, while the Quran teaches that homosexuals must be killed. Christians do not seek to hate homosexuals and any that call themselves Christian and spew hate towards homosexuals is not truly Christian. They seek to have them end their sin so that they may know true life. Now fifty people will never know true life. The Bible says this about many sins in the following verse:
1 Corinthians 6:9 – Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.
I did not say this. This is the words of the Bible. If those who do not “inherit the Kingdom of God” then they are of the walking dead already. They are just taking up space upon this planet till they hopefully awaken to the truth that this life we all live within this temporal plain of existence is only a proving ground. A test to see if we chose the lust of the world or the desire to live for all eternity in the service of our Creator.
At the very most humans in this temporal existence can live just over one hundred years. This was not always the case. There was a time when humans lived hundreds of years. It is within the Bible and states it clearly that this was so. God has limited humanities lifespan because of His love for us. He knew that if we continued to live for hundreds of years few would follow His Son teachings and would be lost to the ultimate death, yet still be alive in this temporal existence.
A soul can die and yet the body live. This is seen daily. Any that willingly and joyfully disobey the commandants and the teaching of the Bible prove this. Yet their souls can come to life at any moment for all eternity. That is the blessing of these temporal bodies we occupy, for nothing created by God is truly evil.
God gave all of humanity free-will. It is due to this free-will that not only good but evil occurs upon this planet by the hands of humanity. All the murders, all the lying, all the sinning is due to our free-will. If we surrender our free-will to other humans that is still our free-will choice. To blame these mass murders upon any but the people that committed these acts is an act of free-will and denial.
The Bible has made it clear. Those that murder and those that live in sin are already dead. Maybe not physically, but spiritually. They are all equally dead. Their fate is the enter into the same place and if the murder is killed at the same time as the sinner then they may be next to each other forever in one place for all eternity.
God has promised all of a humanity an eternal body, but he has not promised all of humanity a place in His kingdom. There is only two destinations. It is only black and white. There is no middle ground, there is no purgatory beyond this life for this life we now live IS purgatory, and there is no grey.
You must end sin. You must bend a knee to Jesus Christ. You must repent of your sins and leave them behind you. You must read the Bible and truly learn it yourself not taking the words of others. For we are to learn and know the Word of God for ourselves. Do this and you will know true life.

Zombies

Due to the Bible no longer being taught correctly nor being read by most as it should be or read at all. There are people going about being nothing but zombies.
They live in their little world of selfishness. Everything must revolved about them, or it is hated, despised and ridiculed. Not worthy of their time and effort because it does not give them satisfaction.
All others in humanity are their personal slaves to answer to their whims and desires. This has been how humanity has acted for thousands of years. It is due this mentality that truly caused slavery, which truly caused events like the Crusades, the Holocaust, and Jihads.
The belief that any human form is below you is the true dystopia. It already exists and will continue to exist as long has people promote a zombie like culture. This is why zombie shows and movies have become so popular. People just don’t realize that they are cheering for the dead, because they are dead. Christians avoid these shows because they see how evil they are.
True and eternal life comes from only one source. God and the belief that His Son is our Savior. In the teachings of the Bible we are told time and again to place God first in all that we do. To treat all others like we would like to be treated ourselves. To become humble and actually place all others before ourselves. This is true life, but can only be achieved by first asking Jesus into our hearts and lives and accepting Him as our Savior. Then actually reading the Bible and then actually following the teaching that are within it. Then living by the Twelve Commandants. Yes Twelve, for Jesus Himself added two more.
Mark 12:28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Exodus 20:1 And God spake all these words, saying, 2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. 7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. 12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 13 Thou shalt not kill. 14 Thou shalt not commit adultery. 15 Thou shalt not steal. 16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. 17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
If all would follow this then there would be no zombies and they will make it to the true Utopia, which you can read about within the pages of the Bible.

“Once saved always saved” verses “faith without works is dead.”

This is something that is extremely important for all to understand. The Bible does not work against itself.
So if the Bible makes it extremely clear that faith alone is not enough. How is the statement “once saved always saved” possible?
The answer is simple it is not.
This man-made doctrine would also negate the term “lukewarm,” which is exactly what those promoting this wish to have happen.
You see we are in the age of the “lukewarm,” per the book of Revelation. You see the order in which each letter to the churches by Jesus Christ in the book of Revelation is also chronological. The last church is the lukewarm church. Yes these churches can exist concurrently at this very moment, but if you really look into the situation each church reflection can been seen throughout history.
You see a “lukewarm” is someone that believes in Jesus, but lives within the world. This lifestyle is allowed to exist because of this concept of “once saved always saved.”
If you think you are saved then you are free to live however you wish, which gives those that follow this a false sense of security.
The best way to explain this is say you are in school and get an “F.” Your parents say you cannot go on any field trips until your grades improve. So here comes this great field trip to heaven, and you want to go so you defy your parents (God) and forge the permission slip to go on the trip, (by the way your signature for God is terrible so you get caught).
Do you get to make this field trip? No you don’t.
This is what “once saved always saved” is, a horrible child’s attempt to forge the name of God on the permission slip into heaven.
Yes you must have “faith.” Yes you must believe in God and that His Son is Jesus Christ. However, if you do not follow the teachings of the Bible, which is the “works” part, you are defying God and choosing yourself over Him. Since we are to love and honor God with all our heart, mind and soul, is this not a sin against God? The answer is yes.
So since the Bible states that faith without works is dead, then “once saved always saves” is death since it does not outright state you must do “works.”
NOTE: if you study the word “works” it does not mean give to charity, or volunteer, it truly means to follow the instructions in the Bible.

“Don’t wear black.”

This is what I told my wife. Why? I told her this because I don’t want her to wear black to my funeral if I should be called to heaven before her. Now again why?
Sure there will be a bit of sorrow but only due to the separation from her, but that is not what we are told and promised. This is one of the things that I see as a misunderstanding that has never truly been addressed within the church. I have yet to see a truly happy and joyous funeral. This is not what I want if I do go before her.
This life is only temporary. This life is not our true goal. This life is not all there is. This is but a proving ground. A trial to see if we are truly worthy to honor and serve the creator of all there is, including us.
To be called to His presence is a time that should be celebrated not mourned over. Now if you do not know for sure where they are going once this life ends then yes by all means mourn and be sorrowful. For you do not know if you will ever see them again, but if you do know that Jesus is your Savior and those that love you are the same then celebrate and rejoice. For it is only a short parting that will go by quickly for the one that has been called before our Lord.
Think of how joyful they are to be standing within the light of God, to be talking to our Savior the Lord Jesus the Christ. Is that not something to want to throw a party about?

Did you see those two guys being thrown off the roof by ISIS (ISIL)?

I hope you did. Not in a good way by the way. I hope you saw so you can begin to understand the differences between these Islamic Extremist with their Sharia law and Christians.
These two men were accused of being gay. Were they? I do not know. Where they caught sharing their affection for each other? We do not know.
What we do know is that they were called gay. They were summarily judged by Sharia law and this was their punishment. A horrible DEATH.
What do Christians do? They ask you not to commit this sin, for yes it is a sin. Those that practice true Christianity do not turn you away, but they try and introduce you to Jesus and His Father God. They try and reason with those that are willing to listen and get them to turn their back on these sins and embrace a life not in this sin but with the light and love of Christ.
Do we kill them? No. For this is against God. Do we brand them? No for this is again against God.
True Christians love all and only seek that person to turn from their sins and to live the life that God wishes them to live. A heterosexual live. Will it be easy? No. Will there be challenges and hurtles to overcome. Yes.
Also it is wrong for those that live in this sin to force their life choice upon Christendom. It is also wrong for a “church” to welcome those that live in this sin to come into their community without leaving the sin behind. This is placing the sin before God and we are told to always place God first.
What is the most amazing is that those on the left. Those that call themselves liberal. Support and condone this sin. Not only that, but they protect and carter to those that embrace Islamic Extremism. Don’t they realize they are protect that which will turn on them and kill them? Yet they attack and persecute those that only seek to love them.
Talk about an oxymoron.
Let me make this perfectly clear. If Sharia law is allowed it will result in the death of all that call themselves liberal. This is not me saying this. It is what Sharia law says WILL be done. So why do you support something that will result in your horrid death???
Yet you persecute those that just wish you to stop living in sin and yet live. Jesus is the answer. Jesus is life.

The Realization

I have been upon this world for fifty-four years. I remember the assassination of JFK. I remember sitting in the school auditorium to watch the launch of Apollo 9 as it headed off to the moon (by the way, yes man actually walked on the moon). I remember telling my first wife the day before the event actually happened that the Challenger would explode upon take off, and her waking me from a nap due to a migraine telling me that is exactly what happened. There is much I have encountered, there is much I have seen and heard, but that pales in what is to come when this corrupted body finally gives out.
A few days ago, while I was writing another post I finally came to the full acceptance that this life we live is only temporary. Now I know I have been writing as such, but for some reason it was not those posts that gave me the full and complete realization.
What did it for me was when I knew without question I could sacrifice myself for someone else. Now I have asked this of myself more than once in the five plus decades, but this was the first time I actually had the answer. When I got this answer, I knew that I was ready to fully accept moving on from this existence into the next one. The only thing that I would wish for is that it took me straight into my new, perfect and immortal body. Will this happen? I do not know, but I do know without question that I feel I can overcome my fears that are a part of my corrupted body and stand and face whatever would cause me to sacrifice myself for another fellow human being.

Immortal continued

In previous posts, I have mentioned that we all will live an immortal life. It is one of those things that is not mentioned much in Christian circles and I really do not know why. It may be they cannot get their head wrapped around such a huge bit of information. In the Bible, it is a fact that we are all promised a perfect and immortal body. As I have stated before as well is how we act in this temporary life will determine how things go beyond that point. What follows this will be speculation, but those that study science know there must be speculation as long as there are some basic facts to follow. Therefore, I will stick to the facts given and then speculate from those facts. I will not name where in the Bible I am getting this. If you really want to know, I suggest you get a Bible and start reading. (NOTE: there will be those that state that the Bible is not fact, but many elements within it have been proven through science. More so then many other theories being thrown about has fact when they are actually nothing but concepts given life because someone with a doctorate said so.)
I will start with the basics, which is humanity survives beyond Armageddon. People will continue to live their life have children and help the devastated world to recover from what just transpired. Nations will either continue or come into being and all will know that God is real as is His Son Jesus, the latter of which they will be able to see and hear in person.
Those that are called “the first resurrection” will become leaders and priest to those that are upon the earth and will do so for one thousand years and work directly with and for Jesus. This is the next step in becoming accustom to being able to live forever.
Many have lived lives upon this earth being taught and believing that this is all the life we will ever have. To me this is one of the saddest things to have ever happened. If people had been taught that through living a good life. Following the teaching of Christ and living a life, that turns you from sin. No matter which sin it was. No matter how great that sin was that if you endured through temptation. That if you were tempted to look upon those of the same sex that if you were tempted to look upon your neighbors’ wife. That if you fought this temptation and overcame it you would be considered worthy to live as a priest right beside Jesus, but not just for twenty year, not just forty, not even one hundred year, but for a thousand years. Alive, breathing, talking, living a live where the sun rises and the sets, living a life where you play with your pets, cook food for those that you love, be with someone you love.
Just think on that. You have a body that does not age. A body that does not suffer from pains of age. A body that does not fail you. That is what we are promised. Every single person that has ever lived. That is alive this very moment IS promised this body.
However, what is the catch? Well there is one. God wants your name to be written in the book of life. If it is, you have millions of years to look forward too. If it is not you still have millions of years to look forward to, but at a terrible cost. It is a cost I do not wish any to have to suffer through; please I ask you not allow yourself to miss out of the wonders that lie before all of us.
Wonders of the birth of a planet. Wonders of the beauties that lie billions upon billions of miles away from where you sit or stand at this very moment. Wonders that can only be reached by accepting the one that gave His life just so you COULD and SHOULD be able to enjoy it. Because God found that all humans are special. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that He will take upon Himself our sins so that we can STAND before GOD.

The flicker of life left his eyes

I remember watching a documentary about the Falklands War. They had an embedded reported and film crew with a Special Forces team that were scouting to take the main town where most of the British citizens were known to live. I remember they were using a night vision camera because they were maneuvering at night.
I do not remember the full details, but I know they got into a firefight. One member of the team was hit and was pulled out to where the camera operator was. He recorded what transpired in the minutes that followed. He kept his camera mostly on the man’s face. You could hear the medic trying to patch him up as well, but I soon was zoned in upon the face of the young man on the screen before me.
I was not able to join the military due to trying to be a good son. My eldest brother joined the Navy, and my father had opened a family business a couple of years later while I was still in High School so when it came time to make the choice. I decided to be the dutiful son and honor my father’s wishes and stay in the out of the military and in the family business.
So this was the closest I have ever came to a real combat situation. I wished I could have been there with them. Standing and fighting beside them, but instead I set thousands of miles and months after the fact, watching the face of a young man in the green light of a low light camera lens.
I watched his eyes. His eyes that moved, reacted, and flickered with the life within him. Soon though they become unresponsive, but still the flicker of life was present. Then it happened. The flicker left and I knew that his soul was gone and all that was left was an empty body.
This was the first time I had ever witnessed the death of a body. It was the first time I knew that without a doubt we had souls that are just using a body to get around from place to place and converse with other souls. It was here that I knew we were children of creation, not an act of chance or nature. It was here that I realized those that had never had to make such a sacrifice as this young man did or been his comrade, or as I learned by watching a documentary. That these men, these soldiers sacrifice so much so we can have freedom. Therefore, we can have the indulgence of not having to see things like this. Then I see what people do with this freedom. They take from men that have died like this man. They take the symbols of God from where those like him are buried. They steal money from those like him so they can live in luxury while they suffer physically and mentally from the wounds of war, and they refuse them care that was promised to them. This is just wrong.
What follows is sermon given at the Naval Academy a few short hours before Pearl Harbor was attacked:

On Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, Peter Marshall preached to the regiment of midshipmen in the Naval Academy at Annapolis. A strange feeling which he couldn’t shake off led him to change his announced topic to an entirely different homiletical theme based on James 4:14: For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away. In the chapel before him was the December graduating class, young men who in a few days would receive their commissions and go on active duty. In that sermon titled Go Down Death, Peter Marshall used this illustration.
In a home of which I know, a little boy—the only son—was ill with an incurable disease. Month after month the mother had tenderly nursed him, read to him, and played with him, hoping to keep him from realizing the dreadful finality of the doctor’s diagnosis. But as the weeks went on and he grew no better, the little fellow gradually began to understand that he would never be like the other boys he saw playing outside his window and, small as he was, he began to understand the meaning of the term death, and he, too, knew that he was to die.
One day his mother had been reading to him the stirring tales of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table: of Lancelot and Guinevere and Elaine, the lily maid of Astolat, and of that last glorious battle in which so many fair knights met their death.
As she closed the book, the boy sat silent for an instant as though deeply stirred with the trumpet call of the old English tale, and then asked the question that had been weighing on his childish heart: “Mother, what is it like to die? Mother, does it hurt?” Quick tears sprang to her eyes and she fled to the kitchen supposedly to tend to something on the stove. She knew it was a question with deep significance. She knew it must be answered satisfactorily. So she leaned for an instant against the kitchen cabinet, her knuckles pressed white against the smooth surface, and breathed a hurried prayer that the Lord would keep her from breaking down before the boy and would tell her how to answer him.
And the Lord did tell her. Immediately she knew how to explain it to him.
“Kenneth,” she said as she returned to the next room, “you remember when you were a tiny boy how you used to play so hard all day that when night came you would be too tired even to undress, and you would tumble into mother’s bed and fall asleep? That was not your bed…it was not where you belonged. And you stayed there only a little while. In the morning, much to your surprise, you would wake up and find yourself in your own bed in your own room. You were there because someone had loved you and taken care of you. Your father had come—with big strong arms—and carried you away. Kenneth, death is just like that. We just wake up some morning to find ourselves in the other room—our own room where we belong—because the Lord Jesus loved us.”
The lad’s shining, trusting face looking up into hers told her that the point had gone home and that there would be no more fear … only love and trust in his little heart as he went to meet the Father in Heaven.
After Peter Marshall had finished the service at Annapolis and as he and his wife Catherine were driving back to Washington that afternoon, suddenly the program on the car radio was interrupted. The announcer’s voice was grave: “Ladies and Gentlemen. Stand by for an important announcement. This morning the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor was bombed…..”
Within a month many of the boys to whom Peter Marshall had just preached would go down to hero’s graves in strange waters. Soon all of them would be exposed to the risks and dangers of war, and Peter Marshall, under God’s direction, that very morning had offered them the defining metaphor about the reality of eternal life.
