Christ

A misunderstanding what is a “church”

What is to follow are some key points that need to be made clear. Why? Because what is a “church” has become lost over the centuries.
The first and most important point: we are called together as already saved members of the Body of Christ.
Matthew 18: 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Hebrews 10: 16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. 19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21 And having an high priest over the house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
These verses show clearly that we are to be with Christ when we gather together. Also note that these gatherings are not called “churches” here. Just gathering, which leads to my second key point.
1 Corinthians 14: 33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Churches as is seen above is defined as follows in Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance: 1577 ekklesia ek-klay-see’-ah from a compound of 1537 and a derivative of 2564; a calling out, i.e. (concretely) a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation (Jewish synagogue, or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both):–assembly, church.
A Christian community and an assembly.
Again we clearly see that these meeting and assemblies are first following that which is taught in Matthew 18 and Hebrews 10. A gathering together as already children of God through the salvation of Jesus Christ.
We are also told by Christ to go into the world and teach the gospel. He never says bring the world into the gatherings. Yet that is what is being done today.
Sinners are being allowed in the building that are called “churches,” for that is all they are buildings. Especially if you are not already one with God through Christ. Churches were just buildings made to make it easier to gather together, which in time allowed a man-made system to be created that as the centuries have passed turned them into businesses and enterprises and in today’s world that is exactly what most are. Gathering in funds to allow the head person in the pulpit to live in luxury while many in the “congregation” struggle to makes ends meet.
Acts 2: 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

A true “church” is called to spread the wealth to all within it. Not to keep it for the few as is done in a business. For that is what today’s “churches” especially most larger ones are all about.
Here is what those in Christ should seek out when looking for a home to gather in the name of Christ:

Is God the center?
How does the pastor live and dress?
Are people within the “church” struggling while others prosper?
Do you feel growth in your spiritual journey toward God?

If any of these answers leaving you doubting then it is best to move on and look for something else.

A teaching from the mount

One of the first lessons that Jesus tries to teach those gather upon the mount where He spoke His most famous sermon was as follows.
Not to be angry with your neighbor without cause. It actually says brother, but as you go further into the sermon Christ will say that your neighbor and thus all are your brother and sister.
Now here is where it gets tricky. What you may consider cause, in reality may not be cause. A prime example is all the protest against the police lately. Especially in the case of Ferguson, MO.
It has been proven that Michael Brown attacked the police officer. Even the FBI agrees with this scenario, yet thousands have been marching around angry at the police and those that sided with the police in this matter. Thus those that have been angry, those that vandalized, those that caused chaos are guilty of being angry against their “brother” for no cause. So as Jesus stated this places those that did this in danger of judgment.
Now it would not surprise me at all that during this there were those that called those on the other side of this dispute worthless and fools. These two place those that said this in trouble to the point that those that used the word “fool” actually are headed down the path to damnation (“but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire”)
So people need to think. People need to try and understand where they truly stand with their neighbor and with God and His Son Jesus Christ. For they are truly jeopardizing their eternal life due to listening to those the spread lies for their own cause and glorification.
But God gives you a way out. He offers a way for you to redeem yourself. How? You must seek out those that you have wronged and ask their forgiveness. If you vandalized a store. Turn yourself in to the police and face what you have done. If you insulted someone no matter the side you must find some way to get them to see that you are wishing to repent.
Place an ad in your local newspaper, make a post on Facebook or some other social media and seek to make it right with those you have wronged. Once you have done so God will know and forgive you.
Oh, and by the way. The raising your hands thing has been proven to not be true. So doing this also falls into that which I have been talking about.

Matthew 5:22 – But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca (thou are worthless), shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

The facts are on the wall. You sin, but are you repentant? That is the important question.

Someone that is repentant over their transgressions is aware they have done something that is not favored by God. So they seek out God through pray and ask forgiveness.
If you go about sinning and it does not phase you then the question must be asked. Are you really saved? The answer is no you are not.
Do you truly desire to be known by God? Then should you not be seeking to have a repentant heart.
Do I sin? Most definitely. Do I seek out God’s forgiveness? Yes I do for I know that I can fall back into the world and become lost. I do not believe in the man-made doctrine of once saved always saved. For I have seen too much and learned so much from God ever to believe you can keep your salvation.
The Bible clearly states that God will remove you from Christ if you do not bear fruit. For Jesus is the vine and we are but a branch within Him and can be cut off and given to man to burn in the fire. So we must seek to bear the fruit of the Lord and to bring glory and honor unto God.
Yet salvation is fleeting. If you do not seek out God then how can you be saved? If you are not saved then how can even think you are a branch within the Vine?

Scrooge’s real sin

Most associate Scrooge with greed. It is true that is a system of his real sin, but what Scrooge was guilty of was selfishness. Everything had to revolve about him and he thought that he could control all through having it. If you notice, he is friendless and very alone at the beginning of the story “A Christmas Carol.” He alienates all about him, because he cannot control them. What he can control he does through his money, which he clings to because it is all that he has left in the world.
Many in today’s world are heading down this same road, but most are unaware just how hideous they appear to other humans. They are blind to what is going on about them as they think themselves better then Ebenezer Scrooge. He is a product of a broken home. His father hated him for being born since his birth caused the death of his mother. He had no true positive influence during his informative years and so the foundation was laid for his eventual fall into the selfishness since all he truly knew was loneliness he never knew there was more to the world.
I can relate to this in a degree. I am what is called an “Army brat” even though my father was not in the military when I was around. Part of the meaning of this phrase was to be moved about from post to post every few years. This did happen to me and so making friends became more and more difficult. This in time got me to the point of feeling more comfortable alone then with people. Therefore, in this I can see how being alone did not phase Scrooge, but it did enable him to fall into the trap of selfishness more easily.
Jacob Marley makes this statement in his discussion with Scrooge “charity, mercy, forbearance and benevolence was my business.” Simply to be humble, a servant to humankind, which is the inverse of selfishness.
Most, especially those that have turned their back upon the Bible and the teachings of Christ, display daily acts of selfishness yet most cannot even see it. They are blinded by their ignorance of the Bible and so they are intolerant of not only things those that those that know the Bible realize is wrong. They also are so narrow-minded that most things are not acceptable to them. You see this behavior given life in the per-visitation version of Mr. Scrooge, yet many just see this movie as entertainment and do not truly dwell upon the message. Mainly, as stated before, because they associate his actions solely to greed not seeing the bigger picture of selfishness.
Look at your actions. Think if your behavior in anyway shape or form echoes the “Humbug” version of Scrooge. If it does see if you can find your own redemption for you will not be given the luxury of being visited upon by four spirits. All you have to count on is the teaching of Christ within the Bible.

Christmas is Christ, Christmas is love

People need to start remembering that Christmas is about Christ. It is only due to His gift, which was His life, and His resurrection from His death upon the cross. Without Jesus no matter what any say, those alive now most likely would not be alive.
The base nature of humanity leads to destruction not only of the individual, but also of those affected by this corruption. The United States, once filled with the teachings of Christ, was once safer than it is today. Our schools were safe, when we gathered in public areas it was safe. Evil feared to rear its head. All due to the teaching of Christ. The Bible gave us peace. Admittedly, not complete peace because we are all corrupt, but more so than today.
Now mass murderers occur nearly monthly, violent riots are starting to become commonplace. Organized and orchestrated by those that wish to cause and life in anarchy and chaos. The fear of terrorist attack lone wolf terrorist attacks happen. Why? Because God is no longer a key element in this nation, not all believe, not all that do believe do so as they should. This has always been true and always will, but the teaching of the Bible were taught and understood by all. Now it is not taught. People go about as they did in the dark ages, where mayhem and murderer were commonplace. It is this ignorance of the Bible that caused the Crusades and the hatred that has seethed on the back-burner for centuries are boiling to the top. All due to the removal of the full understanding of the Bible and its teaching of love.
It is true that there has never been true or complete peace throughout the world. However, as the Bible become accessible to everyone, violence diminished to a degree. Then God was removed and everyday violence increased. People take the word of others instead of reading and understanding the Bible themselves, as they should. This is what caused the Crusades. Some think in teaching hate and rage for that is what the person telling them says the Bible does. This is a lie. True there are wars shown in the Bible, but when you read the teaching of Christ all you learn is love for ALL humankind and when you love your fellow humans, you have no desire to harm them. So, remember that Christmas is for Christ, learn His teachings, and follow them.

Jesus

Why in the Christian believe is Jesus the way to God?
From the days when Abraham was first instructed to give sacrifice of a lamb unto the worship of God the foundation was laid for Him to be the way. The lamb was to be pure and unblemished, and believe it or not so was Jesus. No matter what you have been told, he never sinned, nor did he know a woman. For He must needed to be a virgin sacrifice like those thousands of lambs that were given unto to God from the very first one Abraham gave unto our Father in heaven.
That is one of the things that makes Jesus different, and then there is another. But what is it? The one thing most have the biggest problem accepting. The fact that He rose from the dead, that fact that He is alive this very moment. Here is something pastor and priest don’t say, but since I am a laymen I have no trouble saying since it requires the ability to think using science. There are those that believe that there is multiple dimensions. It is actually something that has been taught for centuries without many putting two and two together. What is heaven? It is a place beyond this place of existence that we now exist within. If so then Heaven is a different dimension.
God is real, and so is His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. What they ask us to do and not do is needed to be done for a reason. There is an ultimate plan. God wants us to live forever, but we are to be tested due to the sins of those before us. We are to be tested due to the actions of Kane. We are to be test due to those that walked the earth before the flood that required the arc that Noah used to allow creation to continue.
Jesus is our redemption, for He become the human sacrifice, replacing the lamb, to allow us to be welcome before God. Clean of all our sins no matter how great they were, but we must ask Christ into our hearts. If you honestly ask him into your heart those sins that are told us is wrong within the Bible become something we have no want to do. It becomes something that upsets us if we slip back into them and we beg once again for God to forgive, which He does through His Son. Why? Because He knows we are not perfect yet.
Nevertheless, there will be a time when we will be perfect, and on that day all will praise the Lord our God upon His throne, next to which His Son Jesus sits on His right hand. What will be amazing to many is that they will realize that it took imperfection to make them worthy through Christ to stand before the creator of the universe.
Jesus is the only way to God for He is the Messiah. The Bible is the only tool that truly teaches of Christ, and what is required for us to be able to know what we need to do to reach God.
Do not believe those that say you can live in sin and still go to heaven. You cannot. If you truly believe you are saved you will know it. You will not want to live in any type of sin, for within this sin you will know you are corrupting that which is pure and holy and special unto to God, through His son Jesus Christ

The Lusitania and MH17 (an echo in history)

It is May 7th, 1915 the United States of America does not wish to go to war. There is troubles on the Mexican border and so the President tries to distance himself from the war in Europe.
A British cruise ship sails upon the water closing upon it destination. When suddenly it is torpedoed by a German U-boat and sinks killing 1198 passengers on board. The news of this sinking shocked the USA since 128 of the dead were Americans. Unknown to most is that the ship was caring munitions for the war in Europe, but this did not matter. 128 Americans were dead. Within two years, America joined in World War I spurred on by this sinking of this ship.
It is September 1st, 1983 The United States of America is not at war but is locked it what is called the Cold War with the U.S.S.R. There is some trouble on the Mexican border, but nothing that is too worry-some. The President is determined to make the Soviets back down and so has increase the defense budget.
A Korean Airlines Boeing 747 accidentally crosses over into Soviet airspace and is shot down killing 269 including 62 Americans. The President interrupts his vacation returns to the White House and writes a speech, which he gives to the citizens of the United States on the 5th when it is determined it was shot down. He denounces the actions of the Soviets and takes the appropriate actions, which led to the disillusion of the Soviet Republic on December 26th, 1991.
It is June 17th, 2014 the United States of America does not wish to go to war. There is trouble on the Mexican border and so the President tries to distance himself from the war in the Ukraine.
A Malaysian Boeing 777 flies in the skies at 33000 feet not even halfway to its destination. When suddenly it is hit by a Russian made Surface to Air Missile sending it falling from the sky killing 298 people on-board including 23 with USA passport. The nation waits to hear what the man in the White House will say. As of this posting, he has only mentioned it for thirty-eight seconds before campaigning, photo-ops and fund raising once again. Will two year pass before those twenty-three people see their nation act as they watch from where ever they are in time before Christ’s return?
If you do not learn from history you are destine to repeat it.

The Cross
:11:03 p.m.
Timothy is elated the entire day, and Christa is right beside him. She spends the rest of the day talking to her family about the events that took place at the church, and about the reaction Tim received from the people and from the pastor. He had asked for a copy of Timothy’s book and inquired if Tim could return again, which the younger man said he would.
Now Tim and Christa lie in bed still excited by the events of the past day. Slowly though, they both fall into a deep sleep.
The sun is bright as Tim finds himself at the rear of a large crowd, upon a hill, outside an ancient city.
“This is Jerusalem,” comes the voice of Gabriel from beside him, “and these people are gathered here to watch the spectacle of death.”
“Whose death?” Tim asks.
“Three individuals shall die this day, but one you know very well,” the angel says as Tim’s head snaps up to look at him.
“Yes…. Jesus.”
As Timothy looks back toward the crowd, he finds himself at its center. Here he is ringed by Roman troops as they hold back the excited mob. An opening forms on the side facing the city, and there before him he sees the Christ leading a large group of soldiers and three men with crosses.
“Oh my…,” come the words slowly and then are lost as he looks at the Savior’s battered form. Blood, both new and dried, cover His face. Most of it comes from the thorny crown upon His head; but some, Tim notices, comes from His nose and mouth. His clothes are torn and tattered, while His bare feet are dirty and brownish red from the mixture of blood and dirt.
When the Lord reaches the center of the circle, He falls to His knees revealing to Tim the hideous wounds upon His back. Timothy looks at the shredded skin of the Savior’s back. He looks into the still open, bleeding wounds; and he believes he sees the white of the spine and ribs. Tim turns away as nausea starts to overwhelm him.
“No, don’t turn away. You will not become sick.”
“But I feel as though…,” Tim begins to protest to Gabriel’s request.
“Don’t fear. It will not overwhelm you.”
With these words Tim returns his gaze to the sight before him. There he sees a man place the large cross near an already dug hole, which appears well used for its ominous purpose. The man’s face, shoulder and hands are covered with the blood of Jesus; and Tim can see that the man cries as he is pushed away.
Timothy’s attention turns to some movement near him. There he sees two soldiers grab up Jesus and drag His weakened form over to the cross, removing His clothes as they do. They throw Him upon it, which causes Him to arch his back in agony. One of the troops slams his foot down upon the Lord as four others grab His hands. Two of them hold His hands down as the remaining two places large nails at the base of his hands and begins to hammer them into His body and then into the wood. Once this is done, they take His legs, leaving each one slightly bent, and proceed to hammer a nail into each of His ankles. When they finish, the soldier stepping upon His chest moves. As he does this, they attach a guide-rope to the top of the cross. Then five of the troops grab the top of it and begin to raise it. When the wood form is too high for the men to push up farther without difficulty, two long poles are brought into play on each end of the horizontal beam. They use these to push the cross into its upright position as it slams down into the hole made for it. Timothy looks at Jesus’ face as this sudden downward movement ends and sees the pain written clearly upon it. He watches as the Savior lifts His bloody and battered face.
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do,” Tim hears Jesus say. Tim looks at his guide.
“You hear the Lord’s words because this event is for all who follow Him in the past, the present, and the future and because He is God in human form,” Gabriel explains and then points back to the cross where the two see Jesus try to lift Himself to breathe. Tim looks on in anguish as he watches the nails in His feet begin to pour out more blood. He falls to his knees as he sees the torn flesh of the Lord’s back scraping against the rough wooden column. He looks on as large and small splinters are shoved into His already marred back.
Jesus’ head turns to His left, and Tim looks in that direction. He sees another cross there, and upon it is a man tied to it with ropes. Even though Tim does not hear the words, he knows the criminal is heckling the Lord, from his own point of death. He turns to see the other cross just behind and to the right of the Lord. He watches as the man there angrily speaks to the previous one.
“Truly I say to you, today you shall be with me in paradise,” Jesus says in an anguished way and then in pain relaxes His knees to send the pain shooting through His arms. Tim, unable to stand watching his Lord in so much agony, turns away for a moment.
When he returns his gaze to Jesus, he notices that it is growing darker. He looks up to see the cloud that must have moved in front of the sun and is shocked by what he sees. Above him throughout the sky he sees the ape-like creatures, like those from the battlefield, blocking out the blue sky. As hundreds, then thousands start to gather above the city, the light of day is soon blacked out as they watch with joy as Jesus suffers.
“My God,…my God,… why have you forsaken Me?” the Lord says in the light of the torches that have been lit.
Tim looks about him and sees that the crowd that was first there has dissipated. He can see a centurion and his troops, along with about twenty or so other people. Among them he sees three women and a young man holding one of the three, due to her weeping very deeply.
“Woman,” comes the pained voice of the Savior. “Behold your son!” The weeping woman looks toward Him and then turns to look at the young man holding her.
“Behold your mother!” Jesus spits out as his knees once again give way, sending s shudder of pain throughout his body. The young man hearing the words of Jesus, nods understanding that he is to care for Mary as if she were his own mother.
Tim, frozen in sorrow, cannot turn away any longer. He watches as the Lord raises Himself once again.
“I thirst,” the Savior says; and in response one of the guards shoves a liquid filled sponge into Jesus’ face. He turns His head away from the substance.
“Father,… it is done!” He shouts as His body clasps and becomes as limp as a marionette in a puppet show attached with strings to keep it up.
In shock Tim leaps from his bed and then falls to his knees as he begins to weep heavily. Christa, awakened by the abrupt action of her spouse, walks over to him and kneels down to hold him. She does not say a word as he buries his face into the side of her neck and engulfs her with his arms.
